A wise person once described bingsoo as a heavenly snowstorm in a bowl. On a quest to try this snowstorm in various parts of the country, I went to My Frosty Dessert Café.
Hoping to try their signature desserts, I ordered a matcha bingsoo. As someone who loves matcha, I had incredibly high expectations going in and was delighted to have found my expectations exceeded! With the perfect amount of sweetness to not be overwhelming, the shaved ice and matcha ice cream were a symphony of sensations - the refreshing chill of the ice and the distinct earthiness of the matcha were the perfect dessert combination! Topped with sweet red beans (azuki), the dessert had a luscious and slightly sweet bite, adding depth and texture to each spoonful. The drizzle on top completed the dessert by adding flavors and decadence!
A summer's day in Vancouver is truly a beauty to behold. Combine it with a refreshing and decadent matcha bingsoo and you get a sample of heaven, which is why My Frosty Dessert Café is highly recommended for your next trip to Vancouver!

Read moreWe came here to try their injeolmi bingsoo. We tried it at snowy village and passion 8. This one at My Frosty was actually good or better than the one we had at Snowy Village. The shaved ice was not just white shaved ice. It was having some injeolmi flavour and mixing with red beans and red bean paste, some corn flakes, coconut (or something sweet) and cubes of mochi. We ordered a large bingsoo instead of a small one because two of us were sharing.
When we stepped into the restaurant around 9pm, it was quite busy having many customers but we were lucky to find a table and a white couch. It was quite comfortable. We ordered the bingsoo and paid at the counter. Then we waited at our table. A server brought us a bowl of injeolmi bingsoo.
I saw someone said on the review that there was no water. Indeed I went to three bingsoo restaurants, they would not give out water. You could ask for it or sometimes the restaurant would put a big container of water and let the customers get water by themselves. I think it is fair enough.
I would like to come back and try other...
Read moreLeaving a solid 5 out of 5 stars! What I love most about Frosty Dessert Cafe is that it’s open until 11 or even midnight—such a rare find in Vancouver where most dessert spots close early. If you’re looking for a late-night hangout that serves quality desserts, this place should definitely be on your must-try list.
Their bingsu is the highlight: generous in portion (easily sharable between 3–4 people) and made with authentic flavors that really hit the spot. Alongside that, they offer a great variety of sweets—from macarons to cookies and cakes—so there’s something for every kind of dessert lover.
Practical points: there’s a parking lot available, so finding a spot isn’t an issue. However, due to the limited space inside, I wouldn’t consider it very toddler- or wheelchair-friendly—strollers and wheelchairs may find it difficult to maneuver.
Overall, Frosty Dessert Cafe stands out not just for its authentic flavors but also for being a rare late-night dessert option in the city. Perfect for night owls or anyone craving a sweet treat...
