I am baffled that this place has such a high rating. We chose to drive here with our 3 children based on their reviews. We made a reservation for 5pm. We arrived on time. We were seated at a table that was about to collapse. They even have a label to say that the table is not safe. Upon placing our order, they advised us that our order will take 40 mins because they have lots of take out orders. The restaurant was empty. We got barely warm miso soups. There was no way we could wait 40 mins to feed our children so we cancelled our order and left. This is by far the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. I can’t judge their food other than their cold miso soup, but the service alone was not worth anyone’s time.
Edit: We don’t often eat out. We usually cook or order in because nothing beats the comfort of your own home. But today, we decided to try eating at a restaurant…epic fail!!!
We found a sushi place with 4.9 stars! Over 220 reviews, must be good, right? Horribly wrong. The bad experience started with making a reservation on the phone. They picked up the phone with “hello?”, I dislike businesses that don’t answer the phone properly. I had to make sure, “uh is this a sushi restaurant?” And she said “yeah?”. Okay, I overlooked this and proceeded with a reservation for 5pm. We arrived on time to an empty restaurant. The door was locked, so we figured we must be the first customer. They seated us at the back corner with this sign at our table. They seated us, with 3 small children, at an unsafe table. 🙄🤯. If you can’t even spend the money and effort to ensure your customers can sit safely at a table, then will you cut corners of the quality of your food??? Read on, we NEVER find out…
We ordered, and the waitress tried to take our order without writing it down (my pet peeve). We have 5 people, please write down our order because you shouldn’t try to remember it all, c’mon! She finished writing everything down and then she tells us, our order will take 40 mins. Excuse me?!?! We booked a dine in table at 5pm and you’re telling me our raw sliced sashimi and sushi rolls will take 40 mins? They said they had a lot of take out orders. 🤷🏻♀️
@restaurant people, do restaurants usually prioritize dine in orders or take orders? I would have thought dine in. Anyways, our somewhat cold miso soups arrive, our daughter finishes quickly and dramatically whines that she is starving. We asked the waitress again, will our order really take 40 mins?? She said yes 🤦🏻♀️, so we paid for our misos and walked out. We ended up ordering from an actual busy restaurant and picked up the order to enjoy at home. We are never leaving the house again for meals...
Read moreUpdated Sep 2024: I’ve been coming here since it’s been opened and I have to say that the quality of food and service has definitely taken a massive hit.
Came here with my family with two kiddos
It was extremely busy, the server was terrible, rude and had no manners. There was a helper there but only served water and tea.
The kiddos loved coming here because they have kids cutlery and plate settings. We asked for the kids cutlery when she was free, and they never arrived. The kids even asked for them.
We ordered udon, one roll and edamame for the kids. The adults ordered after.
For some reason, our food took forever!!! The service would come to our table with a dish but then we didn’t have cutlery. I would ask for cutlery and she would reply with give me a minute. Eventually, every time she came to our table, she would immediately leave.
The food was pretty decent except for a few underwhelming items:
We waited 45 minutes for edamame which came at the end of our meal.
We ordered the veggie tempura and got one carrot, two asparagus and then rest tasted like potato.
The salmon oshi was small and not worth its price
The prices have increased as well.
I have changed my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. Will consider ordering take out only moving forward but they no longer offer their 15% discount
Another sushi place opened on the other side of 1st, they have a take out discount offer

Overall a great sushi restaurant. There is a lot of table seating and their food is super delicious. Ordered the prawn tempura and it was super big! The lotus salad seemed odd because of the cheese but it was super unique and we loved it! We usually order a negi toro roll but decided to try their pressed Aburi negi toro and we are hooked! Definitely a revisit is in the...
Read moreThis place has become my go-to sushi spot ever since I moved on from Sushi Garden. It feels like a classic sushi restaurant with a unique Korean twist—perfect if you’re craving Korean-style sushi. While it’s a bit pricier than some other places, I honestly think it’s worth it.
The Volcano Roll comes with a fun flaming presentation, and the Aburi Sushi Platter (Combo) is absolutely to die for. With 23 pieces, it’s more than enough to satisfy you and a partner. They also serve a small salad with dressing alongside the sushi, which is a nice touch—a light, refreshing starter that helps balance the meal. The sushi itself was excellent and needed little else—maybe just a bit of wasabi, and that’s it.
The service was a bit slow at times, but it seems like a family-run place. There was only one server handling everything, and they did so with a smile, constantly checking in and making us feel welcome—almost like enjoying homemade sushi. Still, having an extra staff member would go a long way in speeding things up, especially during busier hours. That said, I went on a weekday, so it might be different on weekends.
We spent about $120 for three people (tip included), which is slightly above average, but very fair for the quality, presentation, and overall experience. If you're looking to treat yourself or step slightly above your usual sushi budget, this spot is definitely...
