Li's China Grill (Best Price on Website！) — Attraction in Vancouver

Yesterday 20180803 my boyfriend and I had LI'S CHINA GRILL for dinner. It was our first time having food at this place and we had such a great time there.

Li's China Grill is a Chinese Style BBQ place. It's located on Kingsway downtown side. The restaurant is very small. There are 5 big squared 4 people tables, 2 big circle table for six people families plus 4 small for couples. Inside the restaurant, a couple of Chinese decoration is on the wall. We arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 pm when it just opened. The restaurant has become busy. We had to sit down into the six people's table to share space with others. This place was very unorganized. The customers who ordered food to go, sit down at normal people's place to wait. It made other customers who were eating in, had no place to sit. They had to wait for those takeout people done. Then, they could get a table. Besides that, they only had one server bring Ipad to take an order for each table. It was very slow if the customers wanna know more about the dish. Also, other servers just stood there, looked at them, did nothing with other tables. It was a very bad customer service.

After waited for a while, we began to order our food. We had BBQ Lamb Skewers, Northeast Style vegetable salad, Beef tendons, chicken hearts, honey garlic chicken wings, whole eggplant, Enoki Mushroom, and Grill fresh Oyster. Our food came out of the kitchen fast. All the bbq meat were well cook and well seasoned. The taste of the food was awesome. They were very authentic. Northeast Style Vegetable salad was my favorite. It's in the large portion. The combination of peanut butter with vinegar were great. If they can put more vegetable (cucumbers) and meat (like chicken) on the top. It will be perfect. The whole eggplant was well seasoned with their special sauces. It was awesome. The Grill fresh Oysters were very fresh and big, with the Garlic sauces on were very delicious. Comparing with another Chinese BBQ place down the street, Happy Tree House BBQ, I believe Li's China Grill is better. Also, the price of the food was cheaper than another too.

We were very happy about the food. It was awesome. We will definitely go back to this place to try more stuffs. Highly Recommend people to go to this place earlier when it just open or before it open. Since the restaurant has limited space inside, if you are late, you will have to stay outside to wait. My girlfriend and I was on time for the reservation and the waitress put us in the table right beside the door. Although we kept our jackets on, it was still really cold. But we are okay with that because we understand that was a business night. So we told one waitress if there are other spots available, we would like to move to a warmer place. They promise that they will look for other spots for us. When we saw the table behind is leaving, my girlfriend asked if we can move to that table, and they said they have to check if there are any bookings for that table or not cuz it’s a table for 4. But right away, they replace another couple who sit not even close to the door to the 4 people table behind us and the couple came after us without a booking). The thing make me so mad is they don’t even come to apologize for that but instead they just ignore us. 2 out of the 3 waitresses worked on that night (one purple pinkish hair girl and the main girl who is always there and did the order for us) knows our request and they just ignored us. I guess they expect us say nothing but wait for the next table avaloable. But we just asked them to pack up the rest of our meal and left. We spend over 90 dollars and still left 10% tips. Bad experience! We ordered the grilled fish, confirming the size of the fish at the time of ordering, as well as the side dish that came with it. The waiter confirmed that the fish was 4 pounds for two and the flavor I chose itself had peanuts and cilantro on top. As other reviews have noted, servers will keep recommending extra dishes and saying it's not enough, but the truth is why isn't it enough if the grilled fish is already serving two (4 pounds? There is doubt!) ?

Secondly, we chose spicy garlic sauce, and the waiter said that it had peanuts and cilantro on it. If you have eaten grilled fish from other restaurants, you would be mistaken as I am, but actually spicy garlic sauce is covered with sauce like soup.The sauce without any spicy or garlic, and no peanuts or cilantro. In addition, we added a wide vermicelli is actually not wide, but thin vermicelli!

When we questioned the waiter about the above problems, the waiter could only say that she had explained it wrong when ordering the food. The spicy garlic sauce is like this, and the vermicelli called "wide vermicelli" should be thin.

Finally, the pan will burn and and the fish will stick to the bottom of the pan.
