Awful experience watching Vancouver Rise here. Was an embarrassment for a professional team. We felt really bad for the players. They deserve better.
First, we arrived almost 10 minutes early. Didn't get into the grounds until 15 minutes after kickoff time. They had one security attendant at the carpark entrance for over 100 people lining up. It was a joke. What's worse, not one employee mentioned there was another entrance.
On top of that, they put the food trucks behind the bleachers. The lines for the trucks, concession, and washrooms turned the area into chaos. You couldn't move, never mind find out which line was for which destination.
As for the seats. They are rows of long benches. Seat numbers hidden underneath. Given there's no legroom, good luck trying to find the seat you paid for. Most likely, someone else has already taken it as it was basically first come, first served. You could hear everyone complaining when they arrived. No staff in sight.
The announcer actually called a goal for the wrong team. Enough said on that.
Lastly, the view. As you can see in the photo, the stadium has one side with bleachers. They put the team benches (which are portable) in front of the bleachers, obstructing the views of the pitch / game.
We saw the first game at Canada Place, and it was great value for good football. Their actual home game experience is horrific and couldn't be further from professional. A real shame.
We were hoping to like it enough to opt for season tickets. After this experience, we wouldn't go back if the...

Read moreCame up here from Seattle to meet up with friends to support Vancouver Rise FC. However, as an avid women’s sports supporter, I am highly disappointed in this organizations efforts to provide adequate parking for its supporters! There was no parking available, and nearby parking garages were all closed - as well as all other lots surrounding Swangard. Though, for people who are taking bus and the SkyTrain, I will not discourage you from supporting Vancouver’s first-ever professional women’s soccer team - as the stadium is walkable from the nearby SkyTrain station. If you plan on driving in, I would highly recommend to show up about an hour or earlier to get parking spot, if you don’t this, chances of getting a parking space is...
