Trout Lake in Autumn: A Golden Dream 🍁✨

Big green spaces surround this picturesque little lake. There’s a baseball diamond for Little Leaguers, a soccer field, lots of frisbee throwing areas, and a large gazebo for picnics and family gatherings. The beach on the south side has a lifeguard in the summer. The north side is an off-leash dog area. The Farmer’s Market is also a popular seasonal event on weekends. Great views of the North Shore mountains. Lots of ducks and birds. And you’ll find it’s a popular stop for the crows on their nightly return to Burnaby. Always an interesting park to visit.

Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery

Trout Lake is a beautiful and relaxing spot, ideal for spending the day outdoors. The park is clean and well-maintained, and visitors generally respect the environment. There are plenty of benches and a covered picnic area where you can enjoy a meal or spend the afternoon. Large trees provide plenty of shade, and there’s a sandy area like a small beach where kids can play (note: swimming is not allowed). Classic large logs are placed along the sandy area for sitting or leaning on.

The park has an off-leash dog area and is home to many geese and birds roaming freely on the grass. There’s also a wooden platform where you can stand and take beautiful pictures of the lake and surroundings. Free parking is available and easy to access.

Next to the park, you’ll find a community center with various activities, and on weekends the park comes alive with families celebrating birthdays, weddings, and picnics. Sports fields are nearby, and every Saturday (around 9 AM to 1 PM), an organic farmers’ market sets up along the street by the park, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, chocolate, and...

It’s good to know that there’s a place like this in the middle of the city. The lake gives a feeling of tranquility and peace. I love the idea that this is the place where you can bring your little kids to play. And the fact that this is a dog friendly area where your admirable pets can play and run around. Good place for socializing. An alternative meeting place for various group of people. Ideal place to have a brisk walk around the lake or can be all sort of fun activities. Free parking and a lot of space in different areas around the park. Best place for summer barbecue. I highly...
