Trout Lake Park's off-leash area is a haven for dog owners and their furry friends in East Vancouver. This designated space allows dogs to run free and socialize, offering a great environment for both exercise and play.
The area is spacious, with plenty of room for dogs to romp around and make new friends. The park's natural setting, with its lush greenery and open spaces, makes it a delightful spot for dog owners to relax while their pets enjoy some off-leash time.
One of the key features of the off-leash area is its proximity to the lake. However, it's important to note that dogs are not allowed to go into the lake itself. The park ensures that everyone, including wildlife, is safe and comfortable.
Visitors will appreciate the sense of community among dog owners here. It's a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where you can chat with fellow dog lovers while your pets play. There are also benches and shaded areas for sitting and relaxing.
While the off-leash area is a fantastic feature, it's worth noting that it can get busy, especially on weekends. If you prefer a quieter experience, visiting during weekdays or early mornings might be best.
Overall, the off-leash area at Trout Lake Park is a wonderful spot for dogs and their owners to enjoy some quality time outdoors. It’s a well-maintained, friendly space that adds great value to the park and...
Read moreA relaxed, unfenced dog park on the lakefront: bleachers, docks, benches, lots of green space, plenty of parking (directly adjacent, and in at least one other location in the park), accessible by bike trails, and generally wheelchair accessible; lots of garbages throughout. A nice trail that loops the lake runs through it, though most of that is supposed to be on-leash. I have a 20 lb post-street dog. Unlike most dog parks I’ve been to, I have never had a scary moment here (i.e. no other dog has initiated a fight with my dog), and I haven’t seen any major dog fights between other dogs. Dog owners generally seem attentive and remain nearby their dogs. So, a pretty great dog park “culture” and a wonderful location. May be my favourite dog park yet. A few things to watch for: picnickers that are unaware (?) that they’re in a dog park; if your dog reacts to children, this is probably not the best park for you; if your dog likes swimming and you are concerned about mud or geese doo. Parking lot...
Read moreTrout lake since I was a kid growing up in the area was always a fun place to go. In summertime we would go swimming although I could not swim very good so I could not swim out to the fixed platform about a hundred feet off the south end of the lake. However the water was not very clean but when your a kid you don't care. We heard of a tale that in the early 1900's a team of horses pulling a sleigh with people in it crossing the lake iced over went through and were never found even though they dredged the lake. So, apparently after that they said the lake was bottomless.
Now we like to go to the lake to walk around but watch out for the cyclists some of them can go quite fast, so don't walk in their lanes. Also watch out for the puddles on the walkway in winter they need to add more sand or gravel. It's so a great place to take your dog specially on the north end of the lake and some people even feed the...
