Summer is almost over, so we decided to squeeze in one more patio dinner. Brazilian food turned out to be perfect for it. We saw Boteco Brasil’s top reviews and had to check it out. It’s tucked away on Nanaimo & East Broadway, not a super busy area, but we noticed lots of Brazilian guests dining here. That’s always a good sign! 🇧🇷 What we ordered: 🥩 Picanha Verão – A special Brazilian sirloin cut, served with a light hearts of palm salad. We’re usually not sirloin steak people, but this dish completely surprised us. Juicy, flavourful, and a must-order signature plate! 🍤 Bobó de Camarão – Shrimp in creamy coconut milk sauce with rice & salad. The sauce was rich and comforting, we couldn’t stop spooning it over the rice. 🧀 Dados de Tapioca – Crispy fried tapioca cubes dipped in sweet pepper jelly. Sweet, savoury, and chewy! It was such a unique appetizer. 🐟 Bolinho de Bacalhau – Cod croquettes with a mashed potato inside dough. Golden and speical. 🍮 Pudim de Leite Moça – Condensed milk flan. Smooth, creamy, and absolutely heavenly. Another must order! 🍫 Brigadeiro – Chocolate truffle ball coated in sprinkles. A classic Brazilian sweet treat. 🥥 Beijinho – Sweet coconut ball, soft and chewy. We paired everything with a fruity Batida de Frutas (mango) and the classic Caipirinha. Perfect match for the food and patio vibes. Overall, a hidden gem that transports you to Brazil through food, music, and vibes. We’ll definitely be back to explore more dishes! 📝📝 Food:  🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩 Must Try! Service:  👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳 Kids: 👶👶👶👶 Yay! Price: 💲 $30-$40 each person (dinner) Presentation: 📷📷 Parking:  Free street parking in the neighbourhood. Tips: 📝 Large outdoor patio seating – perfect for summer nights 📝 Live music on certain evenings 📝 Huge variety of Brazilian dishes to try 📝 Happy Hour (Tue–Fri, 3–6pm) 📝 They also have a food truck around the city 📝 Catering services available Would I Return: Yes 👱‍♀️

Went there with my wife for the first time. Things were OK in general, but there were some points that made my visit a bit awkward. We came around 2 pm, the restaurant was quite empty, just 2 other tables, one big group that was leaving and a musician that was setting up her stuff. First, the seats outside need to be properly cleaned or replaced. The cushions are a bit dirty. Second, the cleaning product for the tables smells like bleach, but a lot like bleach. Once the server cleaned the table and let us sit, the smell lasted for 20 to 30 min. We ordered 2 starters, 2 drinks, and the main dish straight away. On the menu, the starters had an option to add a dip for .50 cents, we did not ask for the dip, but they came anyway. One other detail, we had two cocktails, and our server offered a double, which we declined. The appetisers came before the drinks, which is fine for a busy day, but not so much on a slow Sunday afternoon. Around 30 min after we came in, another server showed up to help her, and he started cleaning tables and arranging stuff. He came to us and put a sign on the table informing customers of a 6 dollar per person charge for the live music. I'm more than happy to pay and support an artist, but, we came to the restaurant and the singer wasn't playing, we waited about 5 to 10min for our table to be ready and the staff did not mention this charge, and the singer finish her performance before we left (we spent around 1.5 hours there). We finished our drinks, our main came, everything was OK. We asked for salt and pepper and a beer jug, we never got any! Ehehehe So after a few minutes I asked the server that, in case the jug wasn't ready, he could cancel and bring 2 sleeves only. At the end, the bill came on time, the two dips were there and 12 dollar for the live music as well. 6 out of 10 experience.

Let’s talk about hidden gems—those elusive places that somehow manage to slip under the radar, yet shine like a diamond in the rough. This spot is one of them. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the fantastic atmosphere wrap around you like an old favorite sweater. The vibe is southern latin yet cozy, with a warmth that invites you to settle in and stay a while. I feel like this was once a old Vancouver convience store many years ago. The food? Oh, let’s just say it’s a celebration of Brazilian culinary joy. The steaks were nothing short of stellar, cooked to perfection, juicy, and bursting with flavor. And for my veggie counterpart, the stroganoff with hearts of palm was a stroke of genius—a dish that transcends the typical vegetarian fare and dances across the taste buds. And the appetizers? Don’t even think about skipping those. They’re the kind of small plates that beckon you to keep ordering and tasting, each bite better than the last. It was probably the weak point but not weak at all. Service, too, deserves a shout-out. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in ensuring you have a great experience. You don’t just feel like another table; you feel like a guest, a part of something special. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, this spot has you covered with a large, comfortable off-street patio, plus a small area on a blocked-off street that lets you soak in the atmosphere without the crazy hustle of traffic. Indoor seating is available too, but honestly, who wouldn’t want to bask in that outdoor vibe? In a world of cookie-cutter restaurants, this place stands out—a testament to what happens when brazilian passion meets Vancouver flavor quality. Trust me, you won’t regret making this hidden gem your next destination.

As a connoisseur of Brazilian cuisine, I can confidently say that Boteco Brazil exceeded all expectations during my recent visit for lunch with my brother. Tucked away in East Vancouver, this gem of a restaurant transports you straight to the heart of Brazil with its authentic ambiance, delectable offerings, and impeccable service.

From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The vibrant atmosphere of a traditional boteco immediately enveloped us, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The attention to detail in decor and music truly added to the authenticity of the setting, making us feel like we had been transported thousands of miles away.

Now, let's talk about the food – the true star of the show. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. We started with a selection of coxinha, perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a creamy, savory filling that left us craving more. Paired with the garlic aioli dip, it was a match made in culinary heaven.

Next up was the feijoada, a quintessential Brazilian dish that Boteco Brazil executed flawlessly. Rich, hearty, and soul-warming, it was everything I had hoped for and more. The combination of tender beans, succulent meats, and just the right amount of seasoning made each bite a true delight.

And of course, no Brazilian meal would be complete without picanha, and Boteco Brazil certainly did not disappoint. The traditional cut of meat was cooked to perfection, with a mouthwatering char on the outside and a juicy, tender center. Each bite was a celebration of Brazilian culinary heritage. But what truly set Boteco Brazil apart was the service. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. From recommendations on what to try to ensuring our glasses were never empty, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for.

To top it all off, the garnishings accompanying each dish were not only visually stunning but also added an extra layer of flavor and texture that elevated the entire meal.

In conclusion, Boteco Brazil is more than just a restaurant – it's an experience. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Brazilian cuisine or a newcomer looking to explore something new, this is the place to be. From the authentic ambiance to the mouthwatering dishes to the impeccable service, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. Without a doubt, Boteco Brazil has earned its place as a must-visit destination in East Vancouver. Five stars,...
