To protect the identity of the stylist I will not mention her name. Yesterday was my second visit to the salon to lighten the top part of my hair (Medium brownish) to blend better with the bottom (light golden blondish Beyoncé type color) She previously did my hair to get it to this color and I loved it! She did a great job so I figured that I found my new stylist and made the hr and half drive from White Rock on a Saturday morning. She put in the foils bleach etc, I processed like always, washed it then went back to my chair.

This is when I touched my hair (it's long half way down back) and it felt like mush. I pulled lightly on piece and it literally melted in my hands. I didn't know what to do! I was in complete shock! More and more of it came out when I ran my hands through my hair. I got up and went into the bathroom and crumpled crying. It was coming out in chunks some worse than others down to a couple inches in certain areas!

I got out the bathroom and pulled Franco the owner aside. He could tell I was in shock and was very empathetic. I'm an Account Executive and work with some of the largest organizations in BC. I would not be able to meet clients like this! Not to mention how would I even leave my house?! He stepped in and took over like a seasoned business professional. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but a woman's hair is their security blanket and having it melting in your hands would shake up anyone.

Franco cancelled his appointments and worked with me for hours trying to preserve what was left of my hair. He was extremely apologetic, calm and most importantly honest throughout the whole process. There was a moment when I had to take a break to cry it out in the bathroom and he understood. In the end, we had to go back to dark brown and cut it so it would look less damaged. Being a very skilled stylist he did his best to blend the pieces that fell out to make me look presentable and confident.

By all means my hair is not what I aimed for, let alone does it even feel the same, but I can go to work and out in public without feeling embarrassed. Franco took an absolutely horrible situation and managed to turn it positive (or as close to positive as he could) which I am extremely grateful for.
