Today at 1120 am at the Dollarama at 7601 Weston Road, I had such an atrocious experience I am compelled to write this complaint today. My spouse and I were shopping, everything was otherwise fine. When we went to check out, we were ushered to a self check out machine. We asked if there was a charge for bags, and there was, so I went to the car to grab our bags, while my spouse checked out. The first employee stood uncomfortably close to us at machines that were not socially distant, watching us scan each item. She was very close to us and only watching us, however we were fine thinking she was just doing her job, we didn’t say anything. After we had paid, I tried to load our things from the scale into our bags, but the employee stopped me and took our receipt. We asked if something was wrong and she would not respond. We asked again what the problem was, no response. I asked what was going on and why she would not let us leave, so another employee came over. They spoke to each other in a different language and the second employee told us we could go. The first employee tried to say she did this for everyone, but at least four customers checked out and left and she did not even look at their items let alone scour their receipt. She watched each item be placed on a SCALE WHICH WOULD YELL if we had not scanned something neither of us had bags or large coats. We just wanted to pay and leave. as we exited they kept telling me “it’s alright” as if I had done wrong. It was not alright. Not a safe or comfortable...
Read moreThe selection of things can be hit or miss. Sometimes they have very limited stock. Other times you may be able to get great finds! If shopping for something seasonal (e.g. Easter) go very early on in the season to get a larger selection since things sell out fast at this location. Also things aren't organized very well and it's hard to find some items since they'll be stocked in another isle that isn't intuitively obvious. Asking employees is typically fruitless since they only focus on stocking shelves and are not helpful to customers and are, hence, useless. The check-out staff are incredibly slow and incompetent, often just talking to each other and not paying attention to what they're doing. I have been here many times and I catch them double scanning something or scanning something I changed my mind on. If the staff only worked on stocking and organizing shelves and knew where items were located, all they would need are self-checkout machines and this store...
Read moreGreat selection and space but the staff are RUDE! Walked in an aisle and observed some broken glass. Mentioned to the worker and her reply was "I know I know....yet a women almost stepped back in it". The worker explained they were closing soon and she sees the glass. I guess she's reactive and waiting for someone to get injured first. SMH!!! Then went to pay and two teens were struggling to use the self checkout. I attempted to assist them and still ended up needing help. Asked for assistance and the worker was frustrated as the two teens were struggling and she finally in an passive aggressive tone and gestures assisted. Not everyone knows how to use the machines have some patience. I mentioned that yo the lady who cashed me out and she just looked at me and said nothing as she was dismissive of me.
