Four stars for selection and pricing on clothing, but you pay a premium in terms of chaos in the clothing aisles. I was there just before Canada Day (so presumably lots of people with the day off), and the store was packed with both people and clothing. Great checkout manager, fortunately. Clothes were stacked and overflowing near the mirrors where everyone was (politely) jostling for a view of themselves in the mirrors between aisles. Two boys were playing a vigorous game of soccer in the toy section until my friend finally pulled the grandma card and gave them a talking-to since their dad was preoccupied elsewhere. And you know the best stuff is what someone else already found and tried on, so you join the crowd around the mirrors and dig through the piles in search of treasure ... it falls over ... hangers get tangled ... stuff falls on the floor. You know, as a corporation, VV gained so much floor space and saved staff time by removing the change rooms (not to mention savings by those who can't get the clothing returned for credit on time) but jeez, how about a nod toward fire safety? If this store is always like that, someone needs to report it to the Fire Marshall's office. And hey there management team, a lot of the mess can be addressed by nonchalantly leaving a random rolling rack in the vicinity of the mirrors. I'd hang stuff up, and many others probably would too. It is being done elsewhere (Victoria BC for a start). How about it? Edited to add a thank you to the person who shared their problem with me by donating the lovely glitter top (pic attached). My closet now looks like it was decorated by a 5 year old! You didn't save anything from the landfill, and you helped big bad VV corporation turn a profit off our mutual misery.

Let me preface this with saying that I have been shopping happily at Value Village for 10 years. Just the other day I was in doing my normal walk around checking things out and I saw a rack of new clothes coming out… a fur caught my eye. I walked over to the rack and found this wonderful Hudson’s bay short hair chocolate brown mink coat, and for an AMAZING price. There was a huge hole in the lining of the material but I thought to myself heck, I can sew that. It was tagged $6.99 and I couldn’t believe how lucky I was. After heading to the cash, I paid for the bag and the coat I had picked up and then was STOPPED by one of the ladies working there and told that they needed to speak to the manager, Miriam about the pricing of the coat. I had already paid. This coat was now legally mine. Miriam, the manager comes over and is very rude to me; implying I changed the tags (the rack just came out and I’m not walking around with a staple gun, okay?) she and the other lady were standing there not letting me leave. I am pregnant and overwhelmed, feeling like they are calling me a thief and they force me in to accepting a refund because it was THEIR mistake for mistagging it. Miriam kept telling me it should have been $69.99 - I let her know someone should double check their tags then before items hitting the sales floor. In every aspect this was disappointing and I have never felt more angry at a shopping experience. It’s not about the money, it’s about how this was handled, you get everything donated to you… shame on you.

Please consider this review before you donate anything to any value village stores in the city. I was there today Wednesday February 24, I literally could not believe my eyes after seeing how much they ask for basic items clothing and especially toys like this. Used radio selling $45 on amazon have $25 VV price, used alarm clock selling $25 on amazon have $19.99 VV price, I warned the person who was going to buy, he thanked after I show him the price on amazon. It is outrageous. And I checked the prices of these toys online selling cheaper than value village. Who do you think VV is, a high end store ? Please my friends do not donate anything to VV, there are others. you could donate, Salvation Army, or offer as free on facebook people would come to pick up. Note:The first picture with two toys taken at 10620 Yonge St, Richmond Hill VV, second and last pictures taken at this store. and if you visit their website there you could see they mention that they are profit company. SHAME ON YOU VV

Just came back from this location and I am very disappointed with the service. I decided to go to this location coming from North York because it has a great selection. Went and found a pair of shoes that was priced at $14.99. When I went to pay, the lady working there looked at the shoes and said that they were priced incorrectly; said they were $24.99. I told her that that was the price of the shoes when I took it off the rack, but she insisted that it was wrong and proceeded to tag them at her suggested price. I did end up buying the shoes but in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have bought them.

On my way back I came across another Value Village (Dufferin and Steeles location) so I decided to go in and see what they had. I found a few items that I wanted so I decided to exchange the pair of shoes that I had just bought at the Vaughan location. The lady at the checkout counter looked and said that the shoes were overpriced; that they should not be priced at $24.99

I called the Vaughan location and the CSR over the phone to voice my complaint; that if the shoes that I bought were priced at $14.99 then they should stay at $14.99, but the CSR said that that the person who priced them at $24.99 made a judgment call and since she is a senior employee at the company (over ten years), there is nothing that can do about it. She suggested that I can probably come in and talk to a manager about my complaint but what will that do? Judging from the other one-star reviews this location got, I'll probably get the same run-around. At the end of the day, I lost $10 but it's not about the money so much as the principle of the matter.

Love Value Village, but will never go back to the Vaughan...

Finding treasures in VV outlets means visiting different locations based on what your looking for...clothing, housewares, furniture, toys, etc. Woodbridge location carries amazing housewares and furniture finds. Due to the fact that many homes in this part of the GTA are very large, when people downsize, there are more items in terms of quantity and size, to purge as compared to smaller type homes/condos in Toronto. Here you will find a great selection of dish sets, cookware, decor, and in many cases great furniture pieces ... in very good condition. As for clothing and shoes, you will find mostly trendy styles that cater to the young as well as the more traditional clothing for the mature crowd. Toys and children's wear are also in abundance. The Keele & Wilson VV location has been know to carry the occasional high end designer clothing/shoes from specialty boutiques in Yorkville to authentic designers such as'Fendi', 'Prada' 'Hugo Boss' etc. By researching google, you can learn how to tell the fakes apart from the originals. At this location, in many cases, you will find beautiful classic blazers and dresses that are timeless in style. Men's cotton and polo shirts are in great quantity and most are current in colour and design. In conclusion, you need time to go through the inventory as you may not always find something in each visit. But more times than not, you will leave with a great find. VV is a place to shop whether you wish to limit you eco-footprint - or - to be original in style and to relish that "treasure" you grabbed before...
