As many of you may know from my reviews of sushi restaurants, I love fish. This is the best store for buying fish I have found so far. Due to Covid restrictions, I have not had nearly the exploration of Victoria I was hoping for. Between store closures, social distancing recommendations, loss of personal transportation, my range has been limited to where I can walk. I discovered this little fish gem shortly after arriving in Victoria. Individual portions of a whole variety of fish can be found at very reasonable and affordable prices. My other high value protein is chicken. This is another item that is very reasonably priced most of the time. Food shopping is a breeze for my individual dietary requirements without breaking my budget.

Sale priced items are great here, and I would recommend using the store for immediate fresh fish, fresh chicken options, Asian style cooked duck, and pre-Covid had the BEST salad bar options I have ever seen! I do not recommend this grocer for an average family of 4 as a primary food store. Overall, shopping for dry goods, canned goods, etc, you will get better value for your money at a bigger store that has bigger purchasing base. Isles are narrow, not everyone practices social distancing recommendations or wears masks, but there are actual employees who are engaging, friendly and helpful. Staff is very well trained in positive customer service and traffic flow has been made efficient and effective...

AVOID THIS STORE.

Quite often the staff leave their carts and boxes around making it difficult to shop. Today was intolerable. The produce section was blocked off by a rude worker. He didn't move his stuff out of the way and expected customers to wait for him to strew boxes all over the floor in front of them then saunter around. When I told a supervisor about it he brushed it off and then the rest of the produce workers went about their business shaking their heads.

I dropped my basket and will not be going back to this store. Your treatment of paying customers is reprehensible.

This is after consistently seeing rot and mould on a great deal of the produce in their store. Field cucumbers were literally squishing with white spots last time I tried to buy some here.

The produce section in particular could use some new supervision and some people who actually know what customer service means. Leaving your cart in the middle of the aisle blocking everything is rude.

Lost a customer today. Will not be back. I highly doubt this or any of the myriad other problems at this location will be taken care of.

And if you're buying something from this store, always keep your receipt. I've also bought cheese from this store well within the Best Before date and it was mouldy.

Just a truly terrible place to do...

I only shop here because its the closest store to me and I don’t drive, otherwise I would avoid it all together. Ive had multiple instances in the past four years of shopping here where meat has gone bad WELL before the expiry date listed on the package. Bought a whole box of mandarin oranges around Christmas time and the entire bottom half of the box was moldy, only the top half looked okay (the ones you see when checking them quickly before buying). Their produce looks bruised and beaten up almost all the time. Their prices have increased an insane amount, and they’re also removing more affordable options. There used to be packages of deli meat which were around 1.50 and were good for a couple of sandwiches. They’ve gotten rid of all of those and all they stock now are small deli meat packages that are five dollars or more, or lightly larger ones for double or triple the price. The affordable lettuce packages are also gone. And the hot chinese food they sell tastes terrible, like recycled cooking oil and grease. All of it is awful, not to mention their cashiers are probably the slowest cashiers in the city. If I lived closer to any other grocery store I...

The employees are literally crazy, but then again what shuold i expect from sheep slaves? If you go here every day spending money everyday getting scratch and wins and cashback every day..... Then blaze, get munchies and go to bulk section... Figure before you buy $20 to $40 worth of stuff..... You might want to take a small sample, and make sure you want it!!! But then to be told it's time to go for shoplifting while I'm still in the store?????........... Pretty crazy the approach the young so called store manager for the day...... Mr Cecil the store manager, never approached with good will intent.. He could of kindly said no sampling... If he wanted I could of weighed up the exact same amount of stuff I sampled. Probably maybe be 15 cents??? To get treated like a criminal for no apparent reason..... Filing for a lawsuit tomorrow... All the slave employees are unable to think for themselves so they follow orders blindlessly.. I'm assuming they have never heard of the charter of Rights, I am uncertain how they can justify their actions? Even if you are a sheep slave doesn't mean you are not going to be held accountable for your actions!!

I went to this location today around 6:00 pm it was not too busy but not slow. There was plenty of available parking as well as bike racks available. I wanted some hot food because it was to hot to cook. I got the 3 item bowl, fried rice, chowmein, egg foo young. The fried rice was a bit crunchy but ok, the chowmein had been sitting a while but it was also ok, the egg foo young was massive but a bit undercooked. The staff members that served the food were helpful, fast, clean and friendly the cashier was the Same no issues at all with the customer service. They had everything I needed for $13.99 It would be nice if they gave you sesame seeds on the side. Thanks again I will be back hopefully there is more to choose from next time.

Good grocery store. Especially for people new to metro Victoria. Lots of east asian foods. Prices vary a lot. Some items like meat and bread can be very affordable here and other things like diary and moon cakes I find are more expensive compared to other grocers. Lots of discount items too. Pre-made and hot meals are food value. Cutlery compostable if asked for. Too bad no where to sit and eat but not the end of the world. Store is pretty big and largely hires local cashiers which is great to see. I enjoyed.
