Advanced Massage Therapy — Attraction in Winnipeg

Excellent facility, very friendly staff. The prices are VERY reasonable, and if you have good extended insurance - even more so. With my own and my wife's coverages through work, my one-hour session was under $4 out of pocket!!

The massage was itself very therapeutic. Darryl was my therapist, and I will be going to him again. I work in healthcare and have some background in kinesiology, sports medicine; he spoke with me at my level, explaining the myofascial trigger point locations within muscles by name. He noted some areas of high tension, with knots I hadn't ever noticed in my lower back and upper glutes, that immediately relieved low back tension I experience chronically. I was having trouble with my left rotator cuff mostly, and he was able to isolate specific culprit muscles, working on them vigorously.

I left feeling very sore in a good way, and woke up the next morning with tenderness at the points of work, but feeling an overall release of my problem areas. Despite the nature of deep athletic massage I received, I felt very relaxed and more loose after the session. Darryl is a very strong individual, I asked for deeper pressure and he delivered consistently throughout the one hour appointment. And he is incredibly knowledgeable! I had great conversations around personal health with him.

All in all, an awesome experience. They were on time with the appointment, very professional, in a clean facility that was relaxing. The massage was "to-the-point" with great attention to customer request and preference. And it didn't break the bank!

Being generous and giving 1 extra star as I had exceptional service in the past.

This week, I scheduled an evening appointment and confirmed it a couple of times on their website, by text, and on call. A day before my appointment, I received a call around noon to move my appointment to an earlier time, but I informed them I couldn’t due to my work hours, and the one who called me said it was okay. I then received another call a couple of hours later informing me that they have to cancel my appointment due to the massage therapist having/wanting to work in the morning. They offered to reschedule my appointment in the mornings - despite me mentioning numerous times what time works best for me and what doesn’t.

Word of advice to the team, please do not schedule appointments for the evening if there’s a high probability of it being rescheduled. Hopefully there will be some improvements in the future, but in the meantime, I’ll look for...

After 6 weeks of unbearable shoulder/arm pain, physiotherapist, chiropractor, 7-hr hospital emerg wait, several medications including morphine, 3 walk-in clinic visits, I 'happened' upon Advanced Massage Therapy, Northgate Mall, and Gernan Carangan, the franchise owner. After ONE visit...where he hurt me a lot!...I was pain-free. This isn't your spa massage but it certainly IS a therapeutic massage. I've been back three times, my choice, not through any persuasion by Gernan or staff. I don't have insurance but the reasonable payments were well worth my out-of-pocket expense.
