Mr. Calzone McPhillips — Restaurant in Winnipeg

We came closer to closing, but we wanted to try this place out. I have never tried a calzone before so we decided to share a summer starter. We got a small 3 meat calzone with fried and a drink. At first I wondered why that would be 16 bucks...but then I saw the calzone. It was HUGE and that was a small!!! This place really needs more recognition because the garlic sauce alone is worth coming here for! Its home made and makes the calzone taste even better. The calzone itself is crunchy and it's filled to the brim with meat and veggies. And the French fries are crunchy and perfect! This place needs to be visited more often. Its really underrated. This is my new date spot...

One of the best hidden gems on McPhillips. Mr. Calzones is relatively cheaper than most other spots I’ve checked out, and the quality definitely doesn’t suffer for it. The ingredients are really fresh — you can taste it right away. The bread especially stands out: it smells fresh, toasty, and warm the moment you open the box.

Absolutely loved the Meaty Calzone! Packed with pepperoni, beef, and chicken — it was flavorful, cheesy, and perfectly baked with a golden crust. Easily one of the best calzones I’ve had. Also tried their burger and was genuinely surprised — it’s better than most burger joints around. Juicy, well-seasoned, and served hot.
