The Real Escape Canada — Attraction in Winnipeg

The real escape Canada is definitely the premier escape room brand in Winnipeg. During our vacation to Winnipeg we tried out all the active escape room brands and this was definitely our favorite and ranks very high on our all time favorite lists (we've done over 100 rooms now) During our trip, we did the ruins and the bank heist. The ruins is tech heavy (but somehow still congruous with the theme, so bravo), immersive, and challenging. We escaped this room with only two people, but for folks who don't have a ton of experience with escape rooms and logic puzzles, you might want at least four! This room is definitely in my top ten all time! We did experience a technical glitch during our game, but the game master handled it well and provided us vouchers for free game so it was clear they really pride themselves on their quality and wanted to give us a perfect experience which we got with the bank heist. While not up to the same caliber as the ruins, the puzzles were aplenty and super fun and we'd still highly recommend the room for a great time! The puzzles in the room all made sense with no gaps in logic and the game masters we encountered were all professional, helpful, and thoroughly understood the puzzles. Last game there was a mishap with role assignment. We were specifically told in the beginning of the game that there should be no swapping of roles otherwise we will be deducted time. Since there's only 6 of us, 2 of us were assigned 2 roles and we tried to follow the set rules by not swapping.

As part of the game, on the task provided, there's a part where 2 roles are asked to perform same task but game master assigned both roles to the same person and therefore screwed us over with time. We followed his rules of no swapping and therefore did not do it.

We wasted around 12 to 15 minutes trying to figure out to solve that one problem. Our game master did not even told us that we have to have 2 person in the room. We were penalized for something that is not our fault but of the game master by giving us the wrong roles. Game master should be familiar of the game.

I would say that the aesthetic of the room is great (spaceship) and I've been to 6 of its room already but the fact that we did not get out because of their mistake on their end is disappointing.

The game master did not even acknowledge the fact that it was his fault and just tried to brush it off and change the subject at the end. It would be great if we could do the room again for free as we have been loyal customers and the service we got was bad...

One of my favourite places! I’ve been to like five of their escape rooms and even held my birthday here! Everyone at the real escape is so friendly, informative and they are really great at communicating how an escape room works before you even start. If you’re looking to be transported into another world then the real escape Canada is your choice! Every room has a specific theme and each puzzle is designated towards that right down to the finest detail. They give clues when you’re stuck, and have beginner friendly options for each room except the scary ones therefore making a great get together for all ages. If you get the chance to do the Mine escape room, it is super scary but so awesome! I love how they switch out rooms to which gives everyone excitement for what the newest room will be. I haven’t been in a few years but last time I was there the price was between 20-25 dollars per person and if you go with a group and each pay for your spot, it makes the price 100% worth it.
