Great place to hang out. Wonderful place by the bay with several different spaces and activities that give different things to do all year round. The cafe is a very nice place to eat or have a coffee and the indoor and outdoor seats allow being used during the cold months too. They have gas heaters outside so you can stay nice and warm while having a drink. The museum expos aren't very interesting imho but can be something to do if you have a couple of hours to spare. Don't miss the visit to the rooftop terrace and, please do take the lift, it's a very interesting experience. Don't want to spoil the details, but it's a simple, fun and curious intervention!

I love this place! It has been always so charming to me. When I come alone, the "less is more " architecture and its surrounding just simply give me quiet and calm feelings. When Mei comes with me, she enjoys the playground, and, the merry-go-round 😄 besides, the elevator is great fun for children! Yes, of course, don't miss the elevator!!! Another thing is, the center is free for children , so bring them to watch a exposition is a very nice thing to do as well. And I appreciate that, during whole year, they organize many different culture activities , when we don't know what to do with our kid in weekend or holiday, go there, always a good choice

The Botín Center is an art center designed by the architect and Pritzker Prize winner Renzo Piano. It is located in a privileged position in Santander. Renzo Piano managed to integrate art center with the city center and the historic Pereda Gardens. Light and lightness were fundamental aspects of the design architect's concept. The cantilevered structure by the sea does not touch the ground, it is suspended on pillars and columns at the height of the tree crowns of the Pereda Gardens, acting as a "dock" by the sea. This façade allows light to pass through and offers a view of the bay in full integration with the surroundings.

The wait to buy tickets was for about 10 minutes, even tho there was only 1 person ahead of us. The ticket is 9 eur, which is too overpriced for the current exhibition they have. The whole floor is dedicated to primitive art, but I would call it children's art: just stripes or canvases fully painted in 1-2 colors. The second floor was also disappointing, no art to be found there (a set of cans on the floor or installation "some float/some sink" with lemons in water tanks). The whole thing is a scam, not worth the money nor time. The only beautiful thing that I saw was the building itself
