A gem of a spot if you fancy a little treat when holidaying in Santander. Small and unassuming, very easily missed… Bartender Ruben has a passion for what he does. In his own words ‘he is the menu’ tell him what you want or give him an idea of what you think you might fancy in regards to strength and flavours and he can master you something up… myself and my wife had Pornst@r Martini , Whiskey sours, Old Fashioned, Strawberry Daiquiri and some other on the spot masterpiece the name escapes me but it was strawberry/raspberry based with Bacardi… (pictured below) The only downside was the lack of clientele but having said that it was a Tuesday and a Wednesday when we called in so weekends may very well be busier… Average price per cocktail was €7.50 .. I don't mind standard cocktails, but what I really admire in a cocktail bar is a place like this, where you can walk in, tell the mixologist the kind of thing you like, and they make you something with a little twist, and which you love. This was a great experience, awesome cocktails, a really good selection of spirits (including some terrific whisky if you don't want a cocktail) and it had that great balance between being luxurious, but laid back. The owner said he hadn't been in town long, but he was so welcoming, spoke great English and I hope he's there next...

The best place for cocktails in Santander. Ruben is truly an expert and I have always loved any drink he has made for me. He makes such a brilliant range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, ranging from the classics (espresso martini, moscow mule, mojitos etc) to his own beautiful creations (Rana Verde, Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde, Oscuro Secreto). Every person I have brought to Bochinche has been amazed by the skills and professionalism shown by him and I cannot wait to visit...
