As most are aware the HZM Bridge was virtually closed to regular passenger transportation during the majority of the pandemic. However after nearly 3 years, Mainland, HK and Macau have quickly reopened to the rest of the outside world and reestablished transportation by way of ferries (sea based travel) and the HZMB (land based travel). I recently made a midweek trip from HK to Macau by way of the HZM Bridge for the first time since early 2020 and found that all was operating just like pre-pandemic times. I was surprised to find a steady flow of passengers crossing over in both directions as well. Note, this was a midweek trip so passenger flow was likely less than what could be expected over weekends. Immigration processing was expedient, particularly at the HK Port Building.Ticket purchasing can be done by way of the self-service machines or at the traditional ticketing booths. You can use Octopus to pay for Golden Bus tickets in both directions as well. Prices remain HKD65 to Macau. Shuttle service is back to 24 hours a day with departures scheduled for every 10-15 minutes during the peak daytime hours. After purchasing my Golden Bus ticket, I followed the signs out to the bay area and walked boarded bus with no waiting time. The bus was full in just a few minutes and we were departing towards Macau - just as things were in pre-pandemic times. Note: There is a Discover Hong Kong Tourism Desk at the HK Port building as well as a Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) on the Macau side. Both are located near the building exits. There are also plenty of toilets on both sides of the bridge if needed. I found a couple of shops open on the HK side but the 711 was closed on both occasions and a couple of the eateries still looked firmly shut down. These should reopen eventually. Note: Arriving in HK, there is a large bay with numerous public buses that can take you to most locations throughout the territory including the nearby airport. There are also taxis available if preferred. Overall, I was surprised at how quickly they seem to have picked up where they left off 3 years ago. Unlike the ferry service which will have some natural and inherent growing pains as they re-familiarise how to do everything and slowly increase sailing frequency to match passenger demand, the Golden Bus Shuttle and HZMB transportation seems to be back to operating as it was during pre-pandemic times which is great for those looking for fast, frequent and low cost travel between Hong Kong and Macau.

The passenger queuing experience from the border to the bus was highly inefficient. The line for the ladies' restroom extended over 30 feet outside the door, indicating inadequate facilities for high passenger volumes. If you're expecting a smooth and convenient process, you may want to reconsider your expectations. Crowd management also left much to be desired. High traffic volumes seemed to overwhelm the system, and many passengers ignored queuing protocols, cutting ahead of others. It would be helpful if the operators implemented clearer crowd control measures and additional staff to manage peak periods effectively.

This is one of the massive clearance zone with massive crowd and only three officers for giving clearance, one for Macao Residents, one for HK residents and one for all the visitors. Their main purpose is to scrutinise at least one family members of every one is the visitors queue and unnecessarily waste two hours of your time by making wait in a room and ask for unnecessary documents.

The officials just want to fill their timesheet for the day stating that they worked for the day and Easter two hours of your time for checks. Please avoid the bus travel from Macau from HKG. The officials in HKG side are useless and will definitely waste two hours of your time putting you...

I was so happy to visit HK for the first time but the immigration made me hate it. I flew from Thailand on 23rd Nov 2023. Everything was so fine so far. I will go back to Bangkok on 27th Nov 2023 (it's literally today.) I went to Macau for a one day trip by bus. I was back at HZMB hongkong port around 11 p.m. We had planned to go back to our accommodation by A10 Bus at 11.25 p.m. BUT WE CAN'T!!!!!!!! BECAUSE WE STUCKED IN THE ROOM. WHEN I ASK FOR THE REASON, I HAVE GOT THE RIDICULOUS ANSWER.

How can you take responsibility for our charge that we had to change our plan ???? Just only saying it's an error on the system so it's randomly selected Thai people to...
