Tung Chung Swimming Pool — Attraction in Hong Kong

Great public pool for laps & lessons... but not the best for families with small children.

At the moment, due to Covid, only the “indoor” pool is open most days. This is a proper 50m lap pool, so perfect if you're looking to get some exercise, work on your technique, etc.

HOWEVER, this pool is a bit too deep for small children who are just learning to swim. We've gone multiple days to find the pool session closed early because “someone threw up in the pool”. Which is to say a small child took in a bit too much water. 😞

Public swimming pool with 2 pools. Indoors there's a 50m main pool, with a smaller training pool outdoors. The outdoor pool is closed in winter, reopening April 15th. Note the cleaning day is every Tuesday. The only thing not to love about this venue is the showers. The water pressure is very good, but the spring in the buttons are too strong. You need one hand to keep pressing the button...
