IT IS AN OUTSTANDING PLACE FOR ITS LOCATION, ROOMS AND EXCELLENT SERVICE, FROM CHECK IN ALSO IN RESTAURANTS, LOBBY BAR, LOUNGE, AND ROOM SERVICE, WE WERE ADMIRING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THE STAFF WERE PROVIDING TO THE GUESTS, AND WE GOT THE PRIVILAGE TO BE LOOKED AFTER BY JOHNNY NG, WHO ALSO HAPPENS TO BE THE FRONT OFFICE MANAGER, WHO HAPPENS TO BE EXELLENT WITH HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, HIS WILLINGNESS TO HELP, AND HIS GENUINE INTEREST AND WISH TO HELP AND PLEASE THE CUSTOMERS. ALL THE OTHER STAFF UNDER HIS SUPERVISSION SEEM VERY HAPPY AND GENUINE WITH THE CUSTOMERS THEY ARE LOOKING AFTER. THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTLY OUTSTANDING ALSO, AND ON TOP OF ALL THAT, THERE IS ALSO A FREE SHUTTLE BUS TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT. THE CONVENIENCE OF ACCESING THE LOBBY AND LOOKING AT ALL THE AVIALABLE SHOPS IS AMAZING, THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL WALK EITHER UNDER COVER OR JUST THROUGH A BEAUTIFUL PARK, EVERYTHING IS CLOSE BY AND CONVENIENT, BUT FAR ENOUGH FROM ALL THE HASSLE AND BUSSLE OF BUSY CITY LIFE! AT THE SAME TIME THE TRAIN STATI0N IS JUST A FEW METERS AWAY, TO TAKE YOU ANYWHERE! AND A THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!

Read more24 May 2025 EXCELLENT STAY. BEAUTIFUL ROOM. GREAT VIEW . Had such bad experience during my previous stay I was very reluctant to cone back but glad I did all thanks to Mark the duty manager who warmly welcome us, quick and efficient. He is super professional.
We had a wonderful welcome and a free upgrade as we are Accor gold card members. He wiped out my previous night mare experience as mentioned in.my google review below.
Rooms are beautiful. View is million dollar. Breakfast spread is so huge I overdose on food. Thanks Mark for rescuing novotel city gate . Will definitely spread the word and recomend friends.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVEN BEFORE CHECK IN I booked 2 rooms for end March 2023 and tried to contact them due to some crisis on our flights to HK
I managed to speak to Monica who claimed to be the duty manager but does not have the empathy, finesse nor patience to listen to me. 3 times she tried to push me to reservations and finally I relented just to have the line cut off as no one pick up on the other end.
Again I have to dial long distance to listen to press 1, press 2 and the long recording that reservations worked from x hours to x hours even though I called during office hours. Then instead the operator answered and he was suppose to transfer my call to reservations but again thereafter much waiting, the line was cut off!!
What kind of hotel is this? Why would they hire such a manager even though its a Novotel? I think the brand deserves better. Where are the reservations team? Why are they not answering the call or at least have a recorded message to allow us to leave a message for them to call back when they are free?
I stayed here in the past and gave them 5 stars on Trip Advisor. Now, after the Covid days, quality of service has plunged or they just are not keen to have guests or not happy to have to work? I hope the GM do something before they run the brand and the business...

However, it all started a bit badly when I arrived 45 minutes before check-in and, completely understandably, the room was not ready. However, what was not acceptable was the suggestion I "maybe try around 14:30" when check-in is supposed to be at 14:00. The room was rather "tired," good in its day no doubt, but now dated and worn (particularly the wood and carpet). There are no electricity sockets by the bed, unbelievably! The light switches are a confusing mess; even after 2 days I was just randomly pressing switches and hoping for the best. It took forever to find the main bathroom switch. The fridge is feeble unless you put something in it for 24 hours; good luck with buying something and trying to cool it down to have it the same day. It really annoys me when places "get environmental" on my behalf, especially when what they really mean is that they are saving money and degrading my facilities. (There is a sticker on it which seems to celebrate the fact it is not very cold because it is a minibar)?! I have no issue at all with reusing towels and bedlinen etc, but I expect to be able to set my fridge to be as cold as I want! There are no tissues, which is really very odd. There is no accessible HDMI socket for the TV, but there was an ancient video input of the type I remember from about 25 years ago! I resent being forced to pay for two breakfasts. Why is there no pricing option for just one breakfast included? Life as a singleton is expensive enough without subsiding breakfasts for couples!
