Dong Men Ding Plaza — Attraction in Shenzhen

once set foot onto dong men ding plaza and nearby area, one would be impressed by the crowd of pedestrians and tourists and hundreds of shops, food/dessert/drinks stalls, restaurants (big and amall), entertainment and game venues and personal care/massage shops, with various underground or subway shops, it can possibly rival the shopping paradise in umeda osaka japan but less spacious/cozy and not as elegantly organised or as neat and clean, nevertheless, it can be fun in either way, i am also amazed one of the mall has installed the 3D digital screen by which onlookers can develop false impression that the artificial cat can go out of the screen onto the audience (first appeared in a 3D advertisement board outside a building in tokyo, japan), near the plaza, there are also some large shopping mall worth your visit, eg 1234Space, where you can find many yummy restaurants, and massage, personal care, stationery, clothing, animation figures souvenirs shops...

This place is best described as chaotic, but in a good way. A place that will overwhelm your senses with dozens (hundreds?) of different food stalls packed along the alley vying for your interest. There is good food as well as bad ones but all are relatively cheap. 5 oysters for 20 RMB was a particular bargain as it was absolutely delicious and affordable. The food street was very crowded and oftentimes I find myself worried about getting stabbed by a skewer held by other people. People also seem to think it's fine to dump finished skewers right on the ground after they're done eating it lol But thankfully there are cleaners who regularly patrol the packed street sweeping up all the rubbish. Ventilation can be improved but I kind of enjoy the smoky food smell atmosphere. Worth a visit to feast on a wide range of dishes and seeing all that food prepared right in...

You can't expect the terrible environment in this so-called food court, but also you can't judge the food quality of those restaurants only by its appearances, either.
