We enjoyed an excellent stay at the Crowne Plaza Landmark & Suites Shenzhen. We arrived at the Hong Kong Airport and then used a direct transfer service to get to the hotel. We arrived at the Crowne Plaza early (before 12:00 noon) but we were able to check-in at the Executive Club and obtain our room immediately. It was very spacious with a king-size bed, couch and sitting chair with a foot stool. It also included a very well-lit vanity area immediately outside the bathroom. The bathroom had both a shower and a full-size bath tub. Complimentary coffee, tea and water were replenished daily.
The Crowne Plaza is very convenient to the metro (Guomao Station, Green Line). We were able to use the metro for touring throughout the city. Upon our departure from Shenzhen we also took the metro to the Shenzhen Airport without having to make any station changes (the Green Line ends at Shenzhen Airport). There are escalators so there is no issue with luggage.
The Executive Club provides a great value. Breakfast is served at the Club each morning (although we choose to eat breakfast on the 3rd floor (Brew House) since it offered more variety â especially fresh noodle soup). Throughout the day cold beverages as well as hot tea/coffee are available along with snacks (peanuts, candies, cookies). In the evenings (5:30P â 7:30P) complimentary cocktails are served along with very upscale appetizers. There are both cold items (marinated salmon, cheeses, veggies & dip) as well as great hot items which vary every evening. The appetizers were replenished throughout the night so there is no problem if you arrive late during the happy hour sessions. Also, the Club is quite large so thereâs no issue with seating. Our only tiny complaint was the lack of gin during our stay. It wasnât a big deal because we drank vodka & tonic rather than gin & tonic but it was a bit surprising. We were told they usually have gin but were out of it.
Service at the Executive Club is excellent. Staff members do a great job in ensuring you have everything you could possibly need. They are warm, friendly professionals with excellent English language skills. In particular, we would like to acknowledge the services we received from Marty (check-in & happy hour); Kally (check-out & happy hour); Kate (touring assistance & happy hour); Rainbow (touring assistance & happy hour) and Jessica (touring assistance). The Club Floor Manager has a great team!
As noted above, the hotel breakfast is excellent. It has an amazing variety of dishes (Western, Chinese and Japanese) and they vary on a daily basis. The dishes were by and large very upscale such as sautéed Chinese mushrooms with peppers, smoked mackerel, marinated salmon and stir fried fresh greens just to name a few. One nice touch is that each table has wooden spoons on it with the table number. If you choose to have noodle soup or an omelet made-to-order, you leave the spoon as you place your order and one of the staff members will bring the dish to you after it is cooked. They serve a great cup of coffee and it is constantly replenished. We received excellent service from each of Nicole (Assistant Brew House Manager), Andrea (Hostess) and Luna (Staff Member).
The Crowne Plaza was a great place and we will definitely return to the property when we next...
Read moreI have to say this is probably the best 5 star Crowne Plaza in the world. It triumphs all other Crowne Plazas I have stayed in. I would love to give 5 stars in overall experience too. And I will explain why only 4 stars was given.
First, I LOVE the palatial décor of this hotel. I hope it will not get changed in next renovation, because I really appreciate the luxury feeling of the European palatial décor. It is something you hardly see nowadays. Ultra modern does nothing for me.
Second, the staff here all try to please you. They are wonderful and they try to make you feel you are the guest rather than customer.
Third, the location is unbeatable with direct limousine bus service to Hong Kong Airport. I found it very important in my hotel selection. After a long haul flight, a direct limousine bus to the hotel door is really nice. Other good things including a really comfortable bed, TV with live premier league games, a turn down service with toys and direct water drinking tap in the bathroom.
As a Spire member, I was upgraded to a great suite with Club access. I tried the Club Lounge, The Vienna bar, the Chinese restaurant and the Brew house restaurant. I will talk my experiences through.
First, the Club lounge. Club lounge attendants all remember who you are and which room you are from. I think that is amazing. The food in the Club lounge for breakfast and evening snacks are plenty with choices of Chinese and Western dishes. There are probably 30 different choices ranging from Salads, cold meat, 6-8 hot dishes and soups, fruits and cheese. Eggs and bacon cook to order in the morning but no Chinese noodles. Still it is a nice place to be. It feels a little bit formal due to the decoration.
Second, the Chinese restaurant is nice too. I went to there for the unlimited Dim Sum lunch. It is well worth the money and the food is delicious. Especially the Mongo pudding. Oh dear, it must be the biggest I have ever seen! The chef made it into a shape of fish. It must be at least 18 cms long! I was expecting a small tasting cup. Needlessly to say I stuffed myself. Highly recommend this place if you plan to have a small breakfast and a small dinner.
Third is the main restaurant the Brew House. I had dinner there. I think the price is right for the food offering. I loved the salmon sashimi presentation! The chef used the salmon head and tail for decoration. Very nice indeed. The choice of food are really great. At least 7 different seafood and ice creams to choose from. The best thing is that the restaurant is not big at all. So you do not feel being too noisy or anxious about crowed.
Last the Vienna coffee house is nice. But there is no attendants can be seen from the lobby unless you walk into the main shop.
Well, I had a such wonderful experience and I am sure I will return. However, I am somewhat disappointed to have to pay for the breakfast in the Club Lounge for the second guest. I felt the hotel should alter the policy to be a little bit more flexible. I am happy to pay for the breakfast for the second guest if both of us can have the breakfast in the main restaurant. But currently it is not possible unless I pay two breakfasts instead of one. And due to this reason I give my overall experience a 4 star...
Read moreAfter booking my room I realized that my inbound flight was near 1:00 in the morning! I had several concerns including getting a cab at that hour of the night, checking in and the assurance that with arriving after midnight the hotel would not assume that I was a âno showâ and might re-book the room!
I reached out to the hotel by email and gave my WeChat ID as well as other contact information. Within a day Alansen reached out to me on WeChat identifying himself as the concierge contact for the hotel. Fast!
Alansen communicated with me. He confirmed that my room would be held and that he would take personal responsibility to be sure that my stay would be excellent in every way. One time I reached out to him at 3:00 am (2:00 pm my time) without thinking that he might answer himself!!! I apologized for the late message and he assured me that he would be available to assist me24/7! I thought that he may be an face for an internet team of customer support people. One of many. This is not the case, he took this on himself! He was totally committed!
At the airport he had a prestigious Crown Plaza welcomes Mr. sign with my name on it.. He was dressed professionally and escorted me to the new hotel seven passenger SUV. In it he had prepared waters for me as well as the information to log on to the WiFi! He said that he would have my room prepared for me which I thought would be, perhaps, the AC would be on or something. When I arrived to my room there was a wonderful towel display, much like one would see on a cruise ship!
This Crown Plaza has taken good care of me on several previous trips with great recommendations for shopping, dining and even how to arrange transportation by subway or Taxi. The staff is always egger to assist customers! This hotel is the hub of my China business. Staff has cared for my extra luggage when I would be taking multiple trips in China. I would leave one bag with them that I would not need for a week.
On this trip Alansen did more than I have ever seen for a customer. He deserves employee of the year status! He is most exceptional of a group of dedicated exceptional hotel associates in the Shenzhen Crown...
