We really enjoyed the Botanical Garden and the relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Bogota. The **Bogotá Botanical Garden**, officially known as the **José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden**, is particularly special for its dedication to preserving and showcasing Colombia's rich biodiversity. As the largest botanical garden in the country, it features a wide variety of ecosystems, including cloud forests, Andean woodlands, and páramos. What sets it apart is its extensive collection of native and exotic plant species, including the world-famous Colombian orchids. The garden also serves as a research and conservation center, playing a crucial role in the study of Colombia's flora. The meticulously designed greenhouses, themed gardens, and a unique collection of Amazonian and Andean plants provide visitors with an immersive experience into Colombia's diverse natural beauty. Additionally, the garden offers a peaceful setting for relaxation and reflection amidst the vibrant city of Bogotá.

I visited Bogotá's botanical garden with low expectations. I'd recently visited the botanical gardens in Medellin and thought that this couldn't possibly compare to that... and I was right to a degree. In Bogotá, the gardens don't look very natural. They look like the gardens in a rich person's mansion. Having said that, there are still many wonderful plants, yes and flowers here. I was pleasantly surprised. There's also a wonderful set of climate-controlled tropical houses, that hold some pretty spectacular plants. For tourists, it costs 5,000 pesos to enter and an additional 10,000 pesos to enter the tropical houses. I'd say that it's worth paying the extra, as it's not much and there are some very unusual and rare plants in there. One warning though... protect your camera lens in there... there are lots of places where water is sprayed onto the plants and it gets everywhere.

What to stay about the Bogota Botanical Garden - Jardín Botánico de Bogotá? It is literally a breath of fresh air amid the chaos of the Bogota traffic jams. It is full of beautiful displays of vegetation with many great opportunities for taking pictures with and without people in them. They are building a new greenhouse and it looks so amazing. The flower garden is mesmerizing and very picturesque. The attention and service are great too. The small coffee shop from La Trocha is great and makes it good to stop to drink a coffee, eat some cake and honey, and take in the beautiful views. It is a MUST do when in Bogota.

My wife and I came here and we were surprised by its size. We bought the full access tickets and we did not have enough time to get through the entire botanical garden but next time we will come prepared. The tropical section was a little hot for my wife since people from Bogotá aren’t used to warmer climates but luckily we both were wearing hydration packs and she had cold juice to easily hydrate herself. My favorite part has to be the rose garden with spacious areas for families and couples to sit in the grass and benches or walk around and enjoy themselves

Easy Uber ride from Candlaria. The grounds are extensive and lovely. The gardens have been designed with families in mind, cute overlooks for kids to climb in a variety of sub climate zones. A large authentic hut enclosure where families can learn about life of the indigenous people of Colombia. Many beautiful plant species with water flowing throughout the park. A large lake with a water feature and a beautiful bridge provides the ultimate selfie spot! Reasonable entry price and a charming indoor/ outdoor restaurant on premises.
