The cable car from Bogota up to Mt. Monserrate not only offers a beautiful view over Colombia's capitol, it also has a nice roundway covering biblical themes in 12 stations for prayer. There is a precious little Cathedral up there and a sanctuary you should visit.

Really astonishing is the fact that you are in over 3,100 meters and it is still VERY dull green around. In the European Alps at the same hight you would be among "naked" rock formations and depending on the season - snow. I deeply appreciate this place here ...

Great experience to walk to reach the top, the view is simple wonder, it took me 36 minutes walk without stopping, nevertheless the experience is reaching to the top at any peace.

There are some shop to buy different beverage during the road, if you very early morning is better to buy something during the trip.because at the top everything is close until 9.

Also is you a catholic is a great opportunity to leave your prayers and wishes.

Great time and I will recommend to anyone.

I almost forget the distance is...

Get your camera out early because it travels 820 meters in about four minutes, offering stunning views of Bogotá as it ascends to 3,152 meters...
