Sendero is a great way to see the Monseratte and other views of Bogota! The trail is open to hike up from 5am-1pm and to hike down closes at 4pm. I would highly recommend hiking between 6-8:30am M-F, and if possible avoid the weekend. Weekends are filled with people and makes it a bit hard to walk because families and couples hold hands and take up the entire walk way and do not move for people climbing with intention lolllll. But if you want to get good pictures of a filled walking trail then definitely recommend going...

Don't listen when people say, "Don't go on the weekend!" The place is packed, but it's totally up for the challenge of massive crowds. The lines for the funicular moved fast and, once you're up the mountain, WOW! What an experience! You have your choice of several first-rate restaurants and cafes, and dozens of fancifully decorated food stalls, with accompanying festive seating areas, each providing a jaw-dropping view of the city below. So I say, "Bring on the masses!" This place can handle it,. And the more...

This hike is no joke. It is entirely uphill a with many steps to go up. If you are not seasoned when it comes to hiking or do not have good conditioning then I do not recommend doing this hike. It would probably be better to take the cable car up lol.

On the way up there are many people selling food and drinks. There was also a ton of people when I went but that may have been because I went on a weekend and it was around 10 am. I guess a lot of other people had the same idea...

Excellent hike. You have three options to get to Monserrate. We chose to walk due to the challenge. It is a short 50min hike but it has a big elevation gain and you need to consider the elevation you already start at. It is quite tough if you're going to do it quickly. You can always take it slowly and enjoy the beautiful nature and views. Remember to bring water even though there are some shops along the way that are cash-only.

Disfrute
