Go early and hike up. The feeling of accomplishment you get when you are done with the hike makes the food at the top taste so much better. I'm not trying to say that the food up top wasn't good. It is excellent! Don't eat before you go and take a bottle of water. It will be difficult if you're not used to climbing stairs at higher altitudes. It will take you about 45 to 60 minutes if you're in moderate shape.ne prepared to take breaks going up. There are excellent places to take photos on the way up while you're taking your breaks and the views from the top are splendid. The design, layout and architecture of the church is stunning. The air feels so fresh and so clean at that height. If possible, go on a weekday when there is no public holiday and take a friend. Misery loves company, but it's less miserable in...

Very nice place with beautiful panorama. A church is on the top of the hill and some souvenir shops, also you can buy food and drinks. It is recommended to take the train up which is a 3 minute ride and costs 12000 COP one way per person. And walk down on the way back but be careful it is slippery in some places. If you are fit enough, you can also walk up the stairs, it takes about an hour, but you need to be fit to climb the steepy stairs. Go early in the morning to avoid long queue for the train and take your vaccination paper, they request for it when entering the place. Plan about minimum 2 hours to enjoy the place and to go up and back. For the parking you have to pay if I remember correctly, 120...

The walking route to Monserrate is the most famous trekking you can try in the city, in the heart of Bogota's most iconic mountains, is an arduous trail of steps that elevate till 2600mts, is highly recommended for you to rest and eat properly prior to try the experience even though the trail has policemans and first aid staff ready to help, it can really busy on weekends you must have in mind is physically demanding and can take up to 2-3 of walking so don't rush it and go at your own pace. When you get to the top of the mountain you will have an unique view of the city and its surroundings, the nature, the church and the food places that the mountain...

A tough walk up as I'm not the fittest of people on the planet and I struggled a bit with the altitude, although you do see some people running up it! Also there are alternate transport methods to the top. Besides that it's well worth it, I spent a few a good few hours enjoying the view and walking around and eating Aiacho. The view of the city is impressive.

It's a decently hard trail going up. Elevation gain is aggressive but it's duable. Water and snacks are available everywhere on the way up so no need for an overkill with a backpack. About 16k pesos to come down with a cable car.
