Visiting La Puntilla Park in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic was an absolute delight! 🌴🌞 This park is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of the Caribbean. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted by a lush tropical paradise. The palm trees swayed gently in the warm breeze, and the vibrant flowers added a burst of color to the landscape. One of the highlights of La Puntilla Park is its stunning waterfront location. The views of the Atlantic Ocean were simply breathtaking, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline created a serene and relaxing atmosphere. It's the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll along the promenade and enjoy the beauty of the sea. The park's well-maintained pathways make it an ideal spot for walking, jogging, or simply meandering amidst nature. Families were having picnics, and children were playing on the playground, which added to the joyful ambiance. What impressed me the most was the cleanliness and orderliness of the park. It's evident that the local authorities take great pride in preserving this natural haven for residents and visitors alike. La Puntilla Park is not just a place of natural beauty but also a hub for community and culture. It hosts various events and gatherings, and it's heartwarming to see people from all walks of life coming together to enjoy this splendid location. In conclusion, my visit to La Puntilla Park was a memorable experience that allowed me to connect with nature and soak in the authentic charm of Puerto Plata. If you're in the area, I highly recommend taking some time to explore this park and savor the tranquility and beauty it has to offer. 🌴🌊☀️ #LaPuntillaPark #CaribbeanParadise

Seashore park about 20 minutes from Amber Cove (Carnival Cruise port). The area has both a fort and monument to a local revolutionary hero. It is also situated right along the coastline offering very scenic views of the coast and local towns. The fort itself costs $5 per person to enter and contains a few brief exhibits describing the history of the fort and revolution. Most of the fort is wheel chair accessible except the second floor which is stairs only. On the second floor is the top of the fort that offers a very unique acoustic experience similar to the Pantheon in Rome. Definitely worth a visit and doesn't break the bank. Take some time to walk along the pathway that runs parallel to the coast. Plenty of good spots for photos.

This is one of the most important place in the history of the Dominican Republic. The fort San Felipe well known as "Fort Luperon" too, that is located here in La Puntilla (Puerto Plata), was built by the Spanish that came to the country in 1577. This is an beautiful, emblematic and historical place that everybody must visit when come to DR. Now there are more attractions for the tourist, the colossus and imposing "the amphitheater of the Atlantic" with a beautiful view to the beach behind, also there is a big and large mirror wall, so you can take a lot of pictures. I won't tell you more, just go there and enjoy this majestic, historical and beautiful place.

A very good stop to better understand Dominican Republic history. Recently restored the fort is easily found and accessed. There is a fee to enter which includes a rather limited audio tour. I would reccomend starting with the outside portion of the fort. This is stop 507 on the tour and provides an extended history which assists in understanding the fort's role and the overall history of the island and its fight for independence. Some wonderful views of the bay, the port and the mountains of Puerta Playa. The reason for 4 stars is the poor signage and limited information provided.

Lovely peaceful place with a small fort which was closed when I visited. There is a lovely Puerto Plata sign at the entrance which is very photogenic and a little different to the normal sign in the Dominican Republic. The large expanse of grass has beautiful views of across the sea and if you walk to the end you will be able to see the harbour which at the time of visiting had 2 large cruise ships which are always spectacular to see. Lovely place to visit and relax.

Beautiful place. Very clean and safe. This is a must visit if you are in the Dominican Republic specially in Puerto Plata. The San Felipe fort built between 1564 and 1577 commissioned by king Philip II of Spain and the wonderful amphitheater are located here. The vibes of this place are magic.
