Their "double" espresso is half the size of a double espresso anywhere else. That means it's 2x the price of the other tourist places, 4x the price of what you normally pay. It costs more for an espresso here than it does in the United States at a fancy espresso bar. Starbucks is about the same price for double the espresso! I ordered a double long and the employee, as nice as she was, didn't even know what that was, served me a regular shot. Every coffee shop in the Dominican Republic knows what a long espresso is... So she just adds a bit of hot water to it, fine, but for 200 pesos the tiny "double" long shot should be...

I'm American, but I've lived in Puerto Plata for several years now. This is a nice spot for souvenirs if you're visiting and for gourmet Dominican coffee. Whole bean and ground coffee run $15 or so per bag and you are getting coffee grown and roasted here in the country.

You can get a coffee (very small by American standards) for a couple dollars. If you're looking for the best gourmet coffee in the country or a nice place to visit during your cruise stop, I do recommend it.

The best coffee I've ever had, and I'm a barista myself. Very friendly service, delicious coffee, nice atmosphere. You simply have to go there for coffee.

The second thing I have to mention is that next to this Cafe on the right side there is a clothing store, and in the window you can buy the best homemade ice cream in the world! The lady freezes it in plastic cups and warms the ice cream in a bowl of water before serving. We ate the coconut ice cream and we still remember the taste of the best ice cream we've ever...
