Nice atmosphere and location but the service is quite slow and prices very expensive for what it offers. We saw taxi drivers outside and we thought it is the place for locals to realize that most the drivers were waiting for tourists eating inside. guides take their customers to and earn commission - and that’s okay but for a quiet Wednesday we waited almost 40 min to get our food and the total of one fish, one salad, one fried pork comes to $60 is a little unexpected. It is good home cooking but nothing special and I don’t love the fact that it took a long time for food and the quality was average for the price.

I have nothing against the tour guides and the restaurant, I just wish it’s more fair with the prices and services if they want to bus all the...

I have been in the area several times. However this was my first visit to the restaurant. The servers were extremely aggressive and pushy. I ordered Chicharrones de Pollo. After about a 45 minute wait, I was brought 4 super hard fried pieces of chicken, that smelled burnt. When I mentioned that this isn't what I interpret Chicharrones de Pollo to be, I was told THATS MY PROBLEM, by the big guy who also speaks English. The guest around me were appalled by his demeanor with me. We were advised to leave our food and the property. We offered to pay for the drinks we consumed, they just wanted us to leave. It's a tourist trap and they really domt care about the quality of...

Our first time in the Dominican Republic and our tour guide Pedro took us to the most amazing, authentic, Dominican restaurant in Puerto Plata, Polanco Restaurant!! This spot is a true gem and the service and food was an 11 out of 10!!! We ordered Cheese and eggs with Mangu, Arroz con pollo, Arroz con camerones, and fried Red Snapper with rice and beans that were so good I wanted to sneak them on the cruise ship, and fried green bananas. If you’re in the DR and take a taxi into el centro, this place is a must for lunch. We are looking forward to another trip to the DR and will be revisiting Polanco! Thank you to the owners and staff!!

I am someone who grew up in NY. My mother is Puerto Rican, and my father is Italian…. So when it comes to food… I know a little too much about it 🤣 my boyfriend is Dominican from MOCA and we have been traveling throughout DR for the past 2 weeks seeking authentic Dominican food, culture and etc. THIS RESTAURANT IS BELLÍSIMO!! Try the mofongo and fried fish. Everything is very fresh. Ask for Sandra- she is incredibly hospitable. You feel like family coming here. Very warm family oriented clean environment. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!! 10/10 STARS FROM ME! God bless the hands that prepare this food!
