Edit: There is no embellishment here. It was demanded of us to sign a waiver (not sign in), and be escorted from the desk to the restaurant via taxi. The front desk person literally scoffed at us when we said we were staying at a GoTulemar property, which was a true statement. We didn't understand the resort was a different entity and certainly didn't deserve to be treated like lesser individuals.
We made a reservation at 5:30 so we could see the sunset. We were staying at a Go Tulemar property but not at the resort. The clerk was very rude to us and acted like we were trash from the street trying to harass their guests. We looked nice. I was wearing a button up shirt and nice dress shoes, my wife was wearing a lovely dress. They said we had to be escorted to the restaurant and sign a waiver as we were not to be trusted. I don't think I'll forget the man's scowl anytime soon. He looked at us and spoke to us with scorn and malice. It was so weird for June, when the restaurant and hotel are not busy. Great avocado toast and wonderful, bacon, eggs and fresh toast. Yummy mimosas and smoothies! The fresh fruit platter is a must. We had one dine in meal that missed the mark, but Luis, our concierge, and the team made it right by removing the charge and offering another meal free of charge at Victoria’s, Tulemar’s sister restaurant. Luís was our bartender most of the time. He makes great cocktails and was always friendly.
José was our chef at Tule Cafe and as a private dinner in our hotel. He was amazing. His food was authentically Tico and cooked to perfection.
