If you have a mold sensitivity, STAY AWAY!

Everything else was absolutely peaceful and like a little hidden paradise for sure.

Very affordable. The location is great. Close to the beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park. You have to park on a small street unless you happen to arrive when one of the two parking spaces are available. We contacted the hotel in advance and they let us leave our bags in their locked office/kitchen prior to and after our stay for free. The rooms are down the stairs behind the main office and are surrounded by gardens which were perfect for abundant wildlife. There were many birds, Agouti, capuchin, and more right outside of our room and along the walkways.

The breakfast was very tasty. The staff were attentive, helpful, and kind. Michael offered many recommendations and did move us when we mentioned the mold smell, but the second room was almost as bad with mold. Spraying vinegar on the walls, leaving some baking soda around, and adding a dehumidifier would solve their mold issue. It gave us headaches within a very short time.

The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed, big fully stocked kitchen, and a large bathroom.

There were many monkeys around town all within a few blocks from the hotel. You can walk to shops, restaurants, and more. The close by views of the ocean were breathtaking.

If it weren’t for the mold, we could have stayed here for weeks and been happy.

We booked this hotel at the last minute because our prior reservation cancelled. We didn’t know about the free tour until we’d already booked a non refundable tour. We LOVED Manuel Antonio National Park and could spend every day there. We saw so much wildlife and especially enjoyed spending time near the capuchin in the wild. Highly recommend the park if you’re...

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Peace of Paradise. It was a charming alternative to the busy local resorts that was impeccably clean, reasonably priced and located in a sweet residential neighborhood filled with local families and kids. We stayed in Hummingbird, a one bedroom apartment with a separate bedroom and bathroom, full kitchen, dining and seating area and lovely patio with seating options overlooking the beautiful grounds. Jim, David and Andre were perfect hosts. They are super friendly and helpful and made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. The location is perfect for visiting nearby Manuel Antonio National Park and local beaches. There is a delightful little neighborhood market right next door and a supermarket about a five minute walk down the hill. There are a number of very good restaurants also within walking distance. Our favorite was Oceano where we had an outstanding seafood dinner while enjoying a...

Had a really good week's stay here. Rooms were spacious, kitchens were stocked, and the wifi was great for video meetings. Air conditioning was strong and everybody that worked here were super nice! The monkeys and other wild life frequently would come by (capuchin monkeys even tried to open my window at some point) and agoutis also frequent the place. There were also cats and dogs that lived on the grounds as well so it's great for animal lovers. The location was convenient with lots of grocery stores near by and the bus stop was also really close so transportation to Manuel Antonio Park and the beach was easy. There are also a lot of restaurants near by so it was great for me since I didn't have a car.

Some cons were, cleanliness could've been improved (some dead bugs that weren't cleaned up) and the power would go out occasionally (2x during the week I stayed there). It would come back within 10 minutes or so, but just heads up.

Would come back and...

When we booked this place we had quite high expectations considering all the good reviews. When we looked at the bed the first night we noticed the sheets were covered in hair, and not just a couple of hair that could perhaps belong to who made up the bed, there were a lot of hair, even body hair and facial hair on the pillows, clearly someone had slept on those sheets the night before, there's no other explanation, the bed had been made up but the sheets hadn't been changed. We brought up the problem and yes, the sheets were immediately changed by a member of the staff who looked clearly pissed. And we didn't receive not one apology, not a single comment on the matter. Furthermore, there were other things that hadn't been cleaned in the room. The coffee machine still had some coffee in it, we picked up a bowl to use it for the breakfast and it was dirty. I mean, aren't you supposed to check these things after the previous guests have left?

We just stayed here the last few nights and it was wonderful! Highly recommend! It’s right in the center of town, but perfectly nestled into a little jungle nook so it’s nice and private/relaxing. Feels like you are in a little oasis so it’s perfect for being close to all the goods, but a great place to come back and recoup. I recommend it waaay more than being right by the park - it was hectic over there and this area was perfect. The room was so nice, hugest comfy bed ever and a kitchenette which we loved. Also tons of wildlife hanging around right outside! I cannot say enough good things about the staff and specifically about the owner, Jim! He is so accommodating, gave amazing recommendations and was such a cool guy. This is the place to stay! When we come back, we will 100% book our nights here again.
