The view from the cable car in Dubrovnik was spectacular, truly one of the highlights of the city. However, during our tour one of the workers showed rude and unprofessional behavior whose name tag read “Marin”.
My younger sister accidentally broke a glass bottle in the area. We cleaned up the bulk of the mess ourselves, and sincerely apologized. The staff completely ignored us and the apology, no offer to help, just cold and arrogant behavior. He threw/loudly placed a stopper by the broken glass area and left for like 5 minutes before coming back with a broom. It felt unnecessarily hostile, especially when it was just an unintentional mistake.
Later, while trying to scan our tickets to return down, we struggled at the gate. The same staff member, was standing nearby smoking and blatantly ignoring us. Moments later, another caucasian family arrived, and he immediately stopped smoking and assisted them in scanning their tickets. The contrast was hard to ignore. We left feeling disrespected and quite frankly, discriminated against. It was disappointing to...

I purchased my return ticket from a vendor on the street below before walking up to the cable car station. But (FYI) you can also purchase tickets at the station whilst queuing and not incur a transaction fee if you’re paying by card.
I queued for around 20 minutes, anticipating the fantastic views at the top. Once arriving at the top, yes you do get an aerial view of Dubrovnik - but this is obscured by the lift pylons and cables which carry the cable car.

There is a restaurant at the top, where I did stop by for a cocktail - as I was so disappointed with the whole experience I thought I might as well reward myself with a Pina Colada at 11.30am.
Judge me,...

There is a lovely view once you get off the cable car but the best view can be seen by walking out from the little visitor area to the left. If you go down the dirt road to the end, you have arguably the best view of Dubrovnik. While there is a closer path/view, the one we had allowed for an unobstructed, breathtaking view.
There also is an option to go off road quad riding, which would have been fun as well. We went as the last tour of the day was wrapping up and we would have considered doing this, had we known about it before hand.
We were able to buy our tickets from the counter at the bottom of the cable car without needing to do it in advance. I believe this would only work during “off peak” (we went in late May) and perhaps it would be worth booking ahead of time during peak season...
