Experiencing Bota is like finding a outstanding pearl. We heard already 2 times from different people that Bota Sare is a must go. So we couldn’t wait to get there. It was a rainy evening in Dubrovnik, and normally we planed to sit outside but we ended up sitting in their cosy and very comfy restaurant. The people of the restaurant were super nice to our dog and welcomed us in a warm and nice way. So want to choose… we picked the backed oysters as a starter. Terrific taste. Exactly how I was imagining them. Crunchy but still oyster 🦪 yummy. Next up we went all tuna, the teriyaki tuna on a sushi rice bed as well as the tuna tartare. To die for. Normally I am not that enthusiastic but this tuna was outstanding! Could lick the plate afterwards, but of course you can’t do that in public ;). So why is that tuna so great. Nicola one of our hosts explained that the owner of Bota is the only one who has the license to fish wild tuna. So what you get here is the best of the best. We rounded up with a crispy sushi roll but asked to avoid the salmon which is coming from Norway and replace it with more tuna. What a fab choice. 😋. And the dessert was sweetness heaven. A chocolate banana cake. Gosh that was magic.

So thx a million for this wonderful and very special evening to Stephanie & Nicola our hosts for all the nice infos and lovely service 🖤🙏🏽.

PS. The freshly backed rosemary bread I needed to take an extra portion home to extent...

Our first night in Dubrovnik we decided to try this restaurant as we were staying right above them. We were surprised by the freshness of the ingredients. The tuna and salmon were FANTASTIC! The waiters made us feel like we were regular customers, and they treated us incredibly from the first night. We had the pleasure of having Andreas as our waiter and he was lovely to deal with, helpful, very friendly and also gave us some recommendations. We stayed a few more minutes after finishing our meal and talked to Andreas even though they were about to close. We went for breakfast the next day and really enjoyed our meal as well. Then we decided to go one more time for dinner because since we were so close, why not? :) This time we had the pleasure of dealing with Josipa and Amel. Very friendly and we also received great service from them. Josipa also gave us suggestions and provided top notch service. We really appreciate this since we live in Canada and are used to receiving very good service and we always notice it when we travel to other countries. But these guys definitely made us feel at home and their service and dedication to us as customers was incredible. I think I will return to Dubrovnik to eat here again and enjoy the city more 😄 Super recommended! I can't emphasize enough how much we enjoyed the entire experience of eating here, not only was the food delicious but all of the staff were super dedicated and...

Beautiful setting, fresh and delicious sushi, and great service.

We came on our first night in Dubrovnik for our honeymoon. We were seated in the alleyway, across from the front door, and the breeze was unbelievably perfect with light music in the background.

We started with the only sake on the menu, about €9 for a small bottle for ~4 shots worth. Then we ordered a bottle of Croatian white wine for about €33.

I started with oysters, which were caught 50km away. Everything they source and serve is caught within 50km. The oysters were good, although I added a touch of soy sauce to bring out more flavour.

Next we had the sashimi platter for €44 of 4 salmon, 4 tuna, and 4 of a white fish (I think). The salmon was absolutely incredible, the best we’ve ever had. We ended up ordering another 6 more salmon pieces at the end of our meal because it was so good.

Next we ordered three rolls: a fried fantasy roll, the Philly roll, and a tuna roll with avocado and cucumber. Every single one was perfect.

Honestly, I’m hungry again writing this review. I would happily go back tomorrow for the salmon sashimi and...

MUST VISIT PLACES IN DUBROVNIK, CROATIA 👇🏼 Save this to help you plan your future trip to the medieval city, everything from stunning cliff bars to the dreamiest Adriatic beaches. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BANJE BEACH - It’s the most popular beach in Dubrovnik, Banje Beach is big, beautiful and offers sweeping views of the medieval walled city. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BUZA BARS - There are two Buza Bars built into the cliffs of the Old Town walls. The location can’t be beat for an afternoon of cliff jumping, swimming and sunbathing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CITY WALLS - Walk the Dubrovnik city walls for a completely unique Old Town experience. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ DANCE BEACH - This swim ladder haven is a somewhat off-the-beaten-path beach, located just beyond Sulic Beach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ LOKRUM ISLAND - The little island is a quick ferry ride from Old Town, and it’s a great place to spend a day sunbathing on the Adriatic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ LOVRIJENAC - Some of the prettiest views of Old Town are from this fortress that sits just across the West Harbor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ MOUNT SRD. - Hike up Mount Srd., soak in the views of Old Town, Lokrum Island and the piercing Adriatic coast. Then take gondola back down to Old Town. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ PASJACA BEACH - One of the prettiest beaches in Europe, you’ll need to rent a car for the day to get there (located 30 km south of Dubrovnik). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SULIC BEACH - My favorite Old Town beach, popular with locals. Sulic is small and sits in a narrow cove, but the energy is good and the sparkling water is absolutely dreamy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SVETI JAKOV - Another slightly less touristed beach, only because it’s a bit of a walk to get to from Old Town. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ WEST HARBOR - Visit the serene West Harbor for epic backdrops of Old Town and Lovrijenac, as well as a few Game of Thrones filming locations. Amazing experience. Endlessly delicious seafood. Tuna tartar just great - local tuna from the Adriatic Sea. You can taste the quality and freshness. Oysters amazing too. Sushi also very yummy! Accompanied by the right wine made it an extraordinary experience. Very kind and friendly staff. Josephine made the evening very special.
