We recently visited this restaurant during our holidays, attracted by its high Google rating and the promise of a good ambiance, excellent service, and a kitchen that prides itself on using the finest ingredients with a top-notch approach. Unfortunately, while the service and setting were acceptable, the experience was let down entirely by the food.
To start with the positives: the service was genuinely good. Staff were polite, attentive, and made an effort to accommodate us. The ambiance was pleasant enough — nothing extraordinary, but it set a decent tone for the evening.
However, the biggest issue — and the most important part of any restaurant — was the kitchen. We came specifically for a good steak. We ordered it medium rare, but it arrived well-done. When we asked for it to be corrected, the second steak was even more disappointing: it looked old, had no flavor, and the quality was frankly worse than the first.
Even worse, the mishandling of the food meant one of us ended up eating alone while the other waited for the replacement, which completely threw off what should have been a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
We’re not here to complain about prices — good food is worth paying for when the experience matches the expectation. But that wasn’t the case here. The meal lacked quality, care, and any of the flavor you’d expect from a restaurant that presents itself as premium.
It’s hard not to wonder if the high Google rating is influenced more by the owner’s fame — a well-known football player — than by the actual dining experience. Because based on our visit, the food simply doesn’t live up to the hype.
In short, the service was good, the ambiance okay, but the kitchen — which should be the heart of the restaurant — was a real disappointment. If you’re going for the name, you might enjoy the photo op. But if you’re going for a great meal, especially a steak, you may want to...

The service is the absolute best. Made a reservation with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary.
They kindly welcomed us and gave us the table with their best view on to the city walls and sea. The waiters were all very friendly and noticed when we needed something. The even came to fill up our glasses again. They have their own sommelier who can help you with wine specialities if you would like.
The design of the restaurant + clothing of the waiters all match perfectly together and look elegant and chique. They wear handshoes whenever they take glasses, knives, forks or plates to prevent touch which I think is very nice.
We had Some Bread of the house and after this we shared a tuna tataki and a bottle of wine. As main we had the Rib-Eye and Beef steak which were both cut in tho pieces so you could see if they were cooked like you prefered. (They were perfect because we asked them to be rare cooked) the plate was pre-heated so the steak won’t cool down as fast. The best meat we had our holiday!
After this we had dessert. My girlfriend took the chocolate truffle and I had the “Tokyo 9” which was recommended by a waiter. They were both great! Tokyo 9 is not your usual dessert but a excellent mix of umami flavours. Good choice if you like to try something different.
The price of this restaurant is expensive but we think this matches the quality it gives you. Keep this in mind, we like to pay a little extra if the quality is right but this is to your own preference!
Overal the best of the best!
At the end they gave us a sweet little present for our anniversary. It was a candle with vanilla scent which we thought was very nice!

Thankyou for a great diner...
Read moreMy partner and I recently had the pleasure of eating at Ezza Restaurant in the heart of Dubrovnik, and what an adventure it was! The staff here deserve a standing ovation for saving us from our own gluttony – they swooped in like food guardian angels to prevent us over ordering . Who knew a restaurant could have a “food-dar” to sense impending food comas?
A heartfelt thanks goes out to the Sommelier, our wine whisperer extraordinaire, who not only knowledgeably paired our wine perfectly with our meal, but also provided an interesting conversation around his hobby. Cheers to you, good sir, and thank you!
Each dish was perfectly cooked, but the Sirloin Steak, It was a carnivorous dream. When asked how I wanted mine cooked, I left that decision to the chef. It practically melted in my mouth. My partner had hers done more medium to well done.
Ezza's has an elegant finish and charming ambiance that made us feel like we were dining in a fairy tale. In conclusion, Ezza Restaurant in Dubrovnik is a dining experience that deserves a round of applause. Great staff and food and a setting straight out of a storybook – it's an evening that will make you want to hit the rewind button and relive it over and...
