Madrugada Old City — Hotel in Grad Stari Grad

What a fantastic place! It is situated on the harbor, above a supermarket, with lovely views and easy walking distance to a fresh fruit stand, bank, bakery, and restaurant (Nauta). Walk along the pier for a few minutes more and you’ll pass shops, art galleries, ice cream parlors, more bakeries and more restaurants. Due to a vacancy, we were upgraded upon arrival to a spacious two-bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment with modern furnishings, a large balcony, and a hot tub. The kitchen had a stove & fridge and was stocked with utensils, cookware, a microwave, a toaster, and a tea kettle. ||Anita replied within one minute of messaging her on WhatsApp and arrived on-site in less than 10 minutes. She was very welcoming and warm. She helped secure a parking spot for our rental car for only 10€ - a bargain compared with city lot prices. Even after our stay, when I thought I had left my passport in the safe, she went out of her way to try to get it to me. This kind of customer service is priceless and so very much appreciated. ||Bonus: the washer and dryer behind the front desk are available for guests’ use...

Arrived by taxi from the port and honestly a little underwhelmed when we arrived, a set of stairs to access the accommodation above a supermarket... however, wow Anna greeted us and showed us to the apartment beautifully finished, plenty of room and a balcony looking over to the waterside. It’s the little details and quality of all the furnishings and stuff that make this place special. Being above the supermarket turned out to be fantastic and no problem at all as we had easy access to essentials, very quiet and a great kitchen to prepare food and the balcony to enjoy a beer. A special mention to Anna, unbelievably smiley and helpful ... made everything so easy for us from car hire to boat tickets. As for Stari Grad do not underestimate this place, lots to see and do and a wealth of nice...

We stayed here for two nights and were absolutely delighted with the accommodation. The apartments are right next to the end of the harbour beside the old town so a great location. When we first drew up I was a bit sceptical as they are above a supermarket but inside they are wow! All newly done, immaculately clean and extremely well kitted out with more than you will ever need. Spacious too! Andrea the receptionist could not have been more helpful providing maps, showing us the apartment and suggesting things to do. Stari Grad is definitely worth a visit. We ended up here by accident and are so glad we did. It’s very chilled out and everyone is friendly...
