Cyprus Folk Art Museum — Attraction in Nicosia

If someone wants to know the knowledge about source and origin of the Cypriot folk culture should enter this museum. In 1937 the Museum was inaugurated at former Archbishopric Palace. Cyprus Folk Art Museum is located in the center of fabulous and lovely Nicosia. Just next to the present Archbishop's Palace. It is worth spending time there. You will see old agricultural tools, metalwork, clay pottery, wood carving, stone carving and old native art painting.

Fascinating collection of everyday items from a 'bygone age'. Amazing how much work went into making and decorating ordinary objects. Life was slower-paced then. El museo ocupa uno o dos edificios tradicionales de dos plantas, grandes balconadas e impresionantes aleros. No obstante, la zona visitable se limita a un soportal de entrada y la planta baja de uno de los edificios. Además de aperos, útiles de trabajo, cacharrería, artesanías, trajes y elementos del ajuar tradicional chipriota, se recrean un par de habitaciones. Dado su pequeño tamaño, el museo se visita con facilidad. Sería muy interesante poder ver el resto del edificio.
