Vinici sv.
V oblibě vyhrává zejména ryzlink a růžová vína.
I left St. Claire´s vineyard visit as the final stop when I run through the Botanical Gardens for Christmas afternoon - I was tempted by the tasting announcement. And have to say that I did not drink such a good wine for long. When you go out for a trip to the zoo, the gardens or the Troja castle, it is definitely worth to visit in the vineyard and tast some. You can taste, choose and buy a bottle in a seventeenth-century vineyard house that serves as a wine shop. There is a terrace in front of the house where you can enjoy the view of Troja - MEGAromantic, if yo take your girlfriend/boyfriend out. :) I arrived just before the closing time, yet the staff was nice, advised what to try, and they were tables full of people.
Tramín červený, ryzlink rýnský, rulandské modré and other varieties are grown and sold in Troja. Ryzlink and pink wines are very popular. The price of course differs: for 0.5l bottles of traditional wine you pay 150-300 crowns. Straw wine is under 500 crowns. In the wine cellar you can order tasting. If you are interested in cultivating and processing vineyards, you have a vineyard and vineyard trail at the vineyard. On the information stands you will find plenty of information about the history and the present of...
Read moreIf you visit the botanical garden or the zoo, stop here, too! The view towards the vineyards and Chateau Troja are amazing (especially in autumn, when leaves start to turn to yellow-rusty red), but not only. Even in the late autumn you can stop by to have a glass of wonderful wine, or buy a few bottles. And the bottles can be take-away too. It's a good occasion to try local wine made from the grapes few steps away. And, per wine variety they might have just under 2000 bottles. How cool is that? (Plus, it's...
Read moreA very beautiful botanical garden, we also stopped by the little shop where you can buy wine, very lovely staff who spoke perfect English and when asked, recommended the wine made at the very same vineyard. Absolutely exquisite and delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. The entrance to the park (and the wine itself) doesn't even go over 400 Kč, an...
