Really enjoyed my visit to the baths. It costs $2 during the day or $3 after 6pm. Swimming caps are necessary, you can purchase at any shop going up the street towards the baths, they are $0.50. Upstairs you take a blue basket and put your belongings into it and then give it to the person at the information area and they store it and give you a number. Seemed perfectly safe. The changing rooms are old but fine, I had no problems with them. Probably a good idea to bring flip flops though. Hot and cold showers available for before you enter the baths. The large bath upstairs is a lovely warm temperature. Downstairs middle one is very hot! And smaller ones around it are cold. Such a nice way to spend some time, really relaxing and great to see that all the locals go there too. Thoroughly enjoyed it!! Went on my last evening in Banos or I would have definitely gone back! Also right next to the waterfall so can visit that too while...
Read moreNice hot spring, not too big. You have downstairs 1 really really hot pool with a couple of littles one around to deep in with cold water. Changing rooms too. Upstairs 2 more hot water pools but manageable! 5min is the advice time. And one cold!! You have jets with cold water and showers with warm water! There are boxes to put in your stuff, you give to the "garderobe guy" and you get s bracelet with the number! Changing rooms here too and toilets. There is also s little space where you can get massage, they are quiet cheap like in the city but I didn't test them!
Ofc nice relaxing view of the waterfall next to it. In the night it is lit up with different colors. It gets busy! During the week, today it's Wednesday and I went at 15 and it was totally peaceful!
Swimming cap is mandatory, eventually you can buy or rent it out in the shops outside or as soon you enter
Ticket is always...
Read moreA wonderful place for enjoying the hot, cold and healing waters of Baños. It costs 4$ for the entrance. You can buy or rent a bath cap, and buy bathing suits if need be. There are change booths, showers, cold pools and three hot pools of varying degrees of hot water. The way that was recommended by locals to use the water as healing therapy is to have a shower of cold water and then go into the hot pool for maximum 5 minutes and then repeat 7 times alternating between cold and hot. It caters mainly to Ecuadorians and is rustic and a lot of concrete, but still nice enough. Clothes etc. are put in boxes and kept safe. You will get a rubber band with a number. It works well. The water has some Sulphur in the hot pools. Apparently, the cold water in the showers is good to drink. I drank a bit and feel fine. We were there in the morning, evenings are probably more...
