Read moreIf you're living in or visiting the Hurghada area, Spinney's is a convenient supermarket for groceries and household essentials. The store offers a variety of local and imported groceries, including healthy foods, keto-friendly, and gluten-free items, along with a good selection of household goods like plastic storage bins, table settings, kitchen utensils. However, it's important to pay close attention to prices. Some items, like beauty products, some groceries and household items are considerably more expensive compared to other supermarkets in the area. Many products are not labeled with prices on the shelves so the price at checkout might surprise you. PRICE CHECK There is only 1 price checker and it is located at the front of the store near the souvenir aisles. Very inconvenient if you're shopping deep into the store. I usually collect everything I'm unsure about and check the prices at the scanner before heading to checkout. On the plus side, Abu Auf products are conveniently available and always fresh. Sometimes it feels like my local store only with the sections expanded with the same items offered. I do appreciate their deli with the hot foods - at least I get a couple of nights off from cooking! And they stayed open during COVID restrictions which saved me! Disinfection and masks and social distancing at checkouts..... I will be forever appreciative of their choice to make us safe in the midst of the pandemic and provide us with a place...
Read moreA great range of items you can buy water guns, trinket clothes, and tvs very much like a tesco extra but smaller. It also has a full range of confectionary aswel as things for locals, i.e., fresh fish meats and veg to cook with. Staff are not helpful and very rude as to be expected. Their is a self scan till to check prices near to the till. As a lot of things don't have prices. It's easier to pay on Google or apple Pay or use a credit card as the rate is always great. Other than that, they only accept the local currency. So either get the local money or use a card. It's massively cheaper than all hotel shops but you need a taxi to get their so take this into consideration and stock up...
