Escape Rooms Durham — Attraction in City of Durham

We did the dungeon escape room based at Lumley Castle and can honestly say it is the best escape room we have done so far. Helena was amazing and made us feel that we was part of the story. The way in which you become enthralled in to the story line. The props and puzzles was so well entwined to the story line. Just be aware there is one point you have to get on to your hands and knees and crawl, but it was all part of the experience. Can not recommend this escape room more highly. This was our first Escape Room experience and it was the best thing ever!! Matt was our guide and behind the scene superstar and he was the best partner we could have! The clues were great - certainly made us all pull together and work out what was going on and what was needed to move forward. My younger daughter (turned 11 on the day) was scared of the background music, but even she was able to take part and we all (5 of us altogether) had a fabulous time. I thoroughly recommend it and if I'm ever back in the area - I will go again!

We recently did our first escape room at Lumley Castle, for my birthday, we made it about halfway through which wasn't too bad for a first attempt. our host was fab! very friendly with excellent customer service.

We wasted a lot of time on one of the puzzles but I think even if we did figure it out we still wouldn't of completed the whole game.

We really enjoyed our escape room experience at Lumley and will definitely be doing more, it was great fun even if we didn't complete the whole game :P
