A strange experience, a museum seemingly more intent on telling you about its founders than about the history or context of its exhibits. We had previously visited the museum and tombs at Cerveteri (on the coast between Orvieto and Rome) where we enjoyed the 3D displays and audio explanations, so were surprised at the lack of explanation here. Another of the sites included with the Orvieto Carta Unica. A collection of Etruscan artifacts began by Count Faina has become a formal museum. A large collection of coins is displayed in several galleries, as are earthenware items.

The Civic Museum of Orvieto is also housed here on the ground floor.
