Liberators Museum - Normandy 1944 — Attraction in Bayeux

One of rhe best museums in my opinion. It is no big and the are no tanks But all inside is history of first level. It is a family museum did it with big efort For example, each uniform is accompanied with the owner soldier history, and pictures of him, past and the time they did the donation. Don't let the size fool you. This museum is packed with a large collection of items backed by the story of the veterans who donated them. In my opinion a lot more informative and enjoyable then the large museums in the neighbourhood. The owner is extremely friendly and passionate and will tell you all the great stories from the veterans he and his son met...

We zijn 14 dagen in Normandië geweest en hebben daar dagelijks musea bezocht. En dat zijn er nogal wat! En dit museum was de kleinste, maar ohh, wat een prachtige collectie!! Allemaal authentiek materiaal met bij alles wat te zien is, een verhaal en/of een foto van de veteranen die deze spullen geschonken hebben. De veteranen mogen trouwens gratis gebruikmaken van de B&B van de eigenaren, hoe mooi is dat. En een zeer vriendelijke en persoonlijke ontvangst, verrassend in het Nederlands😁Gezellige babbel gehad ook. Een echte aanrader deze klein maar fijn!!

We spent 14 days in Normandy, visiting museums every day. And there are quite a few of them! And this museum was the smallest, but ohh, what a wonderful collection!!! All authentic material with a story and/or a photo of the veterans who donated these items with everything on display. By the way, the veterans get to use the owners' B&B for free, how nice is that.
