Le Saint Jacques restaurant is also located in the center of Bergerac. There are bars nearby that are open until late and you can continue your party there.
See .... …. The interior fits the old house in which it is housed - the style is old-time, you feel as if you are visiting someone in the last, even the century before the last.
Feel …. …. The service was good, they even waited for us because we were late, which was nice of them; …. However, they didn't give us the opportunity to order only an appetizer or just a main course a la carte - they wanted us to get full menu, which I didn't like very much because we didn't have that much capacity to eat. From there, 1 heart dropped out.
Hear …. …. The music was an eclectic mix of French songs, some epic film music, some classical and it was very quiet. It somehow didn't complement the experience well and that's why I took 1 heart. ...........
Smell .... …. As a big fan of matcha tea, I can't help but notice its slightly tart aroma, which gives exoticism and perfection in every dessert, and in this case in cherry souffle, called Hiroshima my love! For a long time I had not eaten a classic souffle, not the chocolate flan, which in Bulgaria is called souffle, but the one that rises up, because it’s made mainly from egg whites. I enjoyed it very much!
Taste .... ..... Most of all I recommend duck leg croquettes - no leg came, but something like a big meatball, fried on top and bottom, with a very crispy crust - delicious! …. There were interesting fermented turnip ravioli with crab meat inside! Except they had nothing to do with ravioli, 2 thin pieces of turnip, among which was the shrimp; …. Cod fish was also good, as was foie gras from the appetizers, but it lacked character and expressiveness; …. The appetizers included a croissant with ham, melted cheese and bechamel sauce, but it was quite dry and somehow devoid of originality. …. The desserts for the day also offered Pavlova, which was not bad, but I was much more impressed by the version of this dessert in a wonderful restaurant in Bordeaux, for which there is a separate publication.
You can visit Saint Jacques restaurant in Bergerac if you plan to party in one of the nearby bars afterwards, but you won't miss much if you don't succeed! There are much better restaurants around.

Read moreFrom the outside you may not give this restaurant a second glance. Hoever, to get in you go through the side door into an unusual entrance and then you literally fall almost into the kitchen as it's so close. The restaurants small 7 tables and a very helpful waiter helps you. The fun begins, Quite simply the best most delicious food ever which is so fresh as the menu is small (just the way I like them as you know it's fresh and mine of this have a massive menus to please everyone) but a small simply delicious selection. Had The most wonderful main fish of the day, Mille foiled and a delicious starter. This restaurant is a MUST, not cheap but if your happy to be adventurous to eat fabulous "real" food beautify presented then walk by all of the other restaurants and stop here. Approx £90,00 for 2 with a super bottle of white, I'm not prone to doing reviews but this was really worth every penny and quite simply the best meal that we have had since visiting Spain...
Read moreIn a historic building with a secret patio under a giant tree, this hidden gem of a restaurant serves traditional French fair with a modern twist, that works wonderfully.
The scallops entree and the lamb ravioli were exceptional, the sea bream special was also very-very flavorful.
Service was warm, attentive, and helpful, and in perfect English so no worries if your French is subpar.
This was indeed a great meal, better than some Michelin star restaurants we have been to, and Michelin needs to add this to their Bib...
