Stopped with the intention of just having a couple of drinks, but stayed for food....and more drinks! After 3 days of sampling the finest wine Bergerac has to offer we decided to try a cocktail or two. My Long Island Iced Tea was prepared perfectly with floating spirit and sours and sunken cola. Delicious! My companion opted for the Aperol Spritz as they seemed popular at other tables. A perfectly chilled aperitif and equally as delicious. 2nd drink for me was a repeat of the L.I.I.T which was just as good as the first. Companion opted for a Whiskey Sour which was 10/10 with a perfectly balanced creaminess, smokey whiskey and sour taste with a perfectly sour boozy cherry bathing in the alcohol.
And so to the food. I wasn't too hungry so decided on the 8€ chicken wings, my companion went for the Beef Tartare at 18€. My wings were well cooked with a grilled, crispy skin. Large, full wings with drumette, middle and tip, dressed lightly with a sweet, mustardy sauce. Delicious and actually very filling. The Tartare was a full meal with home cooked fries, tomato and lettuce salad, a basket of bread with the main event a coarsely chopped seasoned steak, served with a fresh and creamy egg yolk. Tender, juicy and perfectly balanced seasonings with a separate, creamy cornichon sauce. Only slight criticism was that the tartare was a bit too chilled, but it didn't detract from the texture and flavour.
Highly recommended and will return!

Read moreWe visited this restaurant last year and loved it so much we wanted to return. Unfortunately it was no where near as good. The food was tasty but only just warm, the waitress never asked how it was so we told her at the end just so they knew for future reference and she just giggled and said ok. Our table was so wobbly which was a nightmare, we were not shown the specials board/offer of day at all so wasnt aware of it until after we had eaten when we saw the same waitress showing others it. We asked for ice of which was forgotten so we had to ask again. When the food arrived we was told our bread was on its way it never arrived. As soon as we had finished eating we was asked if we would like desserts or coffee when we said no we was asked if we wanted the bill. We said no as we had over half a bottle of wine left, we was then watched as in they wanted us to leave, 10 minutes later our bill arrived on the table. We took our time and enjoyed our wine but it all felt a bit rude. Also incorrect menu online, menu has apparently changed but not been updated. Such a shame, very disappointed and will...
Read moreVery friendly bistro restaurant bar. As we had our dog with us we presumed we’d have to sit on the terrace (as nice as it was, it was a bit cold) but the waitress came out to offer us a warm seat inside, not a problem having a dog in tow. Rebecca even moved our table giving our dog more space to lie down.
There was a nice atmosphere and lots of other diners enjoying lunch which is always a good sign.
Prompt service with drinks delivered and order taken. Rebecca still made time to fuss over our dog and was very kind with him as he is very shy.
I ordered the crustaceans risotto and my partner the Alabama chicken burger and chips. The food was fantastic and good value for money.
We are only in Bergerac for 3 nights but we will return as I have to try the Alabama burger, it...
