Place des Quinconces — Attraction in Bordeaux

This former site of Trompette Castle forms this public square of more than 12 hectares is a stunning spot in Bordeaux. It's considered to be the largest public square in Europe. Most prominent monuments here are the Monument aux Girondins and the two Neo-Classical rostal columns facing Garonne river leading to the spectacular promenade of Quai Louis XVIII. We visited this square twice during our stay in Bordeaux. There were kiosks with food and stalls with antiques for sale during that period.
