Le Rooftop du Grand Hôtel — Hotel in Bordeaux

Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were told we had to wait an undisclosed amount of time since the rooftop was supposedly packed. I asked the hostess how long and she said “oh I don’t know”. After they saw us, standing close to the entrance for a couple minutes, they told us we can go up. As soon as we arrive, we noticed the rooftop was indeed completely empty, and they did not want to sit down. Other than being incredibly overpriced and expensive for the area, the service was extremely bad. We ordered the bordelaise desserts and after waiting for over 30 mins and attempting to call our server several times, he never came and the desserts never arrived. We stood up and asked and he said he forgot.

The intercontinental is supposed to be the best hotel in Bordeaux but it left so much to be desired. Come for the view, get one overpriced drink, and run as fast as you can. It is...

We thought we would try it on the off chance as the sun was setting and it was our last day. The view was ok but the sunset was blocked by an equipment room. The drinks were expensive, 11 euros for small bottle of lager. We saw some food come out but again it looked expensive for what it was, so we finished our 1 drink went somewhere else. The staff were polite and friendly, made us feel welcome, the music playing was great, the overall atmosphere was nice, we were just disappointed the sunset view was blocked. Meh. The staff at the front of the hotel (person working the stand in front) and people on ground floor were very nice. The staff at the roof top, however, were not nice at all. We had to ask for simple things and they all seemed unhappy, did not want to be there, and we were a nuisance having to be dealt with - at 19 to 20 euro for each drink for the pleasure (price not really a concern for us, but we do expect great service in return).
