Le musée Péniche Europ’Odyssée raconte de manière interactive l’histoire de la construction du canal du Midi. On y découvre les défis techniques, l’utilité du canal, les innovations de l’époque ainsi que les aménagements nécessaires à sa réalisation. L’entrée coûte 2 € et la réservation est obligatoire. Concernant la péniche, elle a été construite en 1931 aux Pays-Bas. Avant d’être transformée en musée interactif, elle a fait plusieurs tours du monde avec ses anciens propriétaires. Lors d’une de ses traversées, l’artiste Speedy Graphito a décoré l’extérieur dans un style street art, œuvre encore visible aujourd’hui. La visite dure environ 30 minutes.

Very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Had been to the bastide office and been handed a map with little explanation. whereas at this office we were given so much more information about what there is to do, and how to access the different options during our 2 week stay. As a result we will be booking many of the activities. The only thing is there should be better signposting within the city to make people...

Really good to get a summary of the history of the Canal du Midi on an actual barge! Great recommendation from Jon, the tour guide from the Offices de Tourisme de France.
