We were a group of friends family and international. Total 8 people. Wanted our friends to try something from the region. If you are a foreigner and don’t know the local dishes, might get fooled. Firstly, it took them more than an hour to serve. The funny thing was, some of us took the set menu and it turned out to be cold and miserable looking dishes from buffet. Even some canteen would do better. Secondly, A friend ordered a steak and it was just a very chewy piece of meat. I took a foie gras as starter from the à la carte menu and it was off in color and taste. We didn’t complain still. For the first time in a restaurant in France, we were given stale toasted bread ( not exaggerating). A lot of us ordered the famous cassoulet for main course, that’s when the problem started. The beans tasted stale and the duck looked bluish black. When complained to the Monsieur working there, he went crazy and started bringing some containers from the kitchen and he says in a nasty way that the duck didn’t arrive blue black. Honestly we are not complicated people. Just a bunch hungry people and picked the first restauran we saw. At the end, they removed 2 dishes from the bill but that’s not the point. It was embarrassing for us and I think situations like this is better avoided all together. There are beautiful restaurants in Carcassonne city where we have already dined so may be head there. In our case some friends were hungry and couldn’t wait till we get to the place we actually wanted to eat.
I already overheard them saying they don’t have fries that was to be served with mussels to other clients.
For the restaurant, a gesture, may be work on how to accept feedback. Especially when you know your clients were not disputing the bills. It’s not about not paying. L'endroit a retenu notre attention, nous avons commandé la nourriture, un très bon foie et pour le second une Margret de canard et un surlonge, pour la crème dessert, le tout exquis mais le surlonge dur comme une pierre, on ne pouvait pas le mâcher, ils ont fait des coupes donc qu'il peut être coupé plus facilement et ils l'ont enterré dans des chips, nous l'avons dit au serveur (plus âgé, grand avec des cheveux blancs) et il s'en fichait, il a continué calmement à prendre une bière au bar (pas professionnel de ne pas se cacher), je l'ai fait Je ne l'ai pas mangé, je l'ai laissé Comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo, ils m'ont facturé et même le serveur s'est mis en colère, dommage car je suis serveur et j'aime soutenir mon syndicat et laisser des pourboires mais le traitement que nous avons reçu n'était pas...
