Overall just awful. The woman was incredibly rude from the start (with a native Alsatian speaker). Wanted to try/buy only Gewürztraminer. Tried the vieilles vignes, and also tried one terroir. Incredibly mediocre, flat, bland taste IMO. Asked the difference between the different terroir, and she said the more expensive, the fruitier, and that was it... Wanted to try the Gewürtz Sporen (~€10), but she wouldn’t open it. So one person tasted 2 wines. Told her thank you but no thank you to buying any bottles, and she said it was €2 for the tasting if you don’t buy anything. Where is that sign? Said I’d have one bottle of the Sporen (to be nice). Bought and paid, get to the car, and she substituted a different vintage. Went back in to let her know, and she said they were out of the one, so she just substituted a much newer one. Said it was normal. Normal to say nothing to the customer about the substitution? Normal not to say thank you and just take the money and walk away? No, there is nothing normal about the behavior of the woman...
Read moreThe lady was extremely rude from the very beginning. She gave us tone the entire time. She doesn't speak English, which is fine since I speak French. I asked for 5 glasses and she only gave us 4 saying that 2 can share, even though we can see plenty of other glasses. I live in France and have never had a problem with credit cards. She has a minimum of 30 €. I understand some stores have a minimum of 5 or 10, but I have never seen 30. This isn't a major problem except that it was not posted anywhere and I didn't have any cash on me. I tried to buy 2 wine bottles when she then informed me of this limit(very rudly btw). Cause of her attitude, we left with her being very upset that we didn't buy anything after only tasting 2 wines. There are plenty of other places with nicer...
Read moreWe were about the leave because it showed that we need to call a number to ask them to open the shop. But a young man just appeared and let us in to taste the wines. I am really happy with the white wines and Muscat (especially!!) we bought 18 bottles at the end. I can tell it’s a very family based business and the boy cannot speak English and quite shy. He is very sweet and chase my husband when we were about to leave. He wanted to give us a complimentary wine. After reading the bad reviews, I feel a bit sorry for them. It can be the language and cultural barrier, maybe?! They deserve a second chance. Btw, the price is very reasonable. My husband just said when we finish these wines we should go and buy...
