Reviews of Musée de l'illusion LYON
The Musée de l'Illusion in Lyon is a unique and interactive museum that focuses on optical illusions and sensory experiences. It offers a fun and engaging environment for visitors of all ages, featuring a variety of exhibits and installations that challenge perceptions and provoke curiosity.
At the museum, you'll find a range of optical illusions, holograms, and 3D displays that create mind-bending effects and playful interactions. The exhibits are designed to be both entertaining and educational, encouraging visitors to explore the science behind illusions and how our brains interpret visual information.
The museum often includes immersive rooms and installations where visitors can take memorable photos and enjoy hands-on experiences. It's an excellent destination for families, friends, and anyone looking to experience the fascinating world of illusions in a lively and creative setting. If you're in Lyon, it's definitely worth a visit for a fun and...
Read moreA small museum with a few interesting installments but nothing that you've likely not already seen elsewhere. It's fine for a quick visit with young children. A complete tour of the museum would take no longer than an hour if you stop to read and try out every interactive exhibit. Very overpriced and a few displays were missing or out of order when we visited making a small museum feel even smaller. The girl at the front desk was disinterested and on her phone even when customers approached the desk. A mask is still required but there are multiple games and puzzles that you grab, touch or slide without regular cleaning thus defeating previous efforts to comply with COVID guidelines. This is the definition of a tourist trap. Potentially interesting as a one time distraction with young children at best but beyond that I'd recommend avoiding. Other comparable museums like Ripley's believe it or not are comparably priced but offer ten times the amount of...
Read moreWay too overated honestly. If you have kids I could understand why you would go there, but 12€ for this?!
It's way too expensive for the low quality stuff they have. First, they let way too many people at a time to let you enjoy the very few things in there.
Second, many of the "optical illusions" are just to be seen through your phone by taking photos, which is quite sad. Doesn't really count as optical illusion if I have to see it through my phone. And the ones that can count as optical illusions are barely explained 😔
Mirror surface are dirty and reduce drastically the effect of certain things 🤢
Time to go through the "museum" is roughly 15-20min. I put museum in between quotes because it's definitely not part of museums of France, this is...
