Authentic Italian food at its best.
This place is usually crowed and there is a reason, it is a very good restaurant.
Place: It is just in the Hospital Square, old town Lyon. Surrounded by other Brasseries and pubs.
Service: They were kind enough to give us a table for a couple of hours despite being fully booked. They are Italians most of them and they are very gentle and they also know what they are doing. For a fully booked place they were super fast and effective. We got our order wrongly taken (possible because our lack of french skills) but they did not hesitate to change it immediately.
Food: We ordered a Pizza, Lasagna and a Seafood risotto. All of them cooked to perfection. The pizza dough was fresh and tasty same as the ingredients (They have a wooden oven). The tomato sauce of the Lasagna was tasty and thick, same as the layers. The Risotto was spectacular, loaded with seafood and with an incredible sea taste. For deserts we order 2 Tiramisu, and again they were outstanding. Creamy, tasty and delicious. Wine was at the same level we had red and also white. On top of everything, the portions were very big :-)
This is a must visit in Lyon. Book in advance because they are...
Read moreFood is great, but I had a super bizarre experience here with some friends last summer. We stood in line like everyone else and told the host we had 11 people. He said no so we offered to split up, and again he said no and walked away and moved on to the next customers in the line. Confused as the restaurant had just opened for the night and was completely empty, we stood still for a moment. 4 of us had eaten there a few days before and wanted to bring our friends back. So we recognized the other servers. My Italian friend went to speak to the host thinking he was Italian. He then threatened to call the police? At this moment, the two Italian servers who had served us the weekend before intervened and told us they could seat us. It was very strange and made all of us feel very uncomfortable. It seemed like the original host was on a power trip. He scowled at us throughout the dinner. Truly a shame because I thought it was the best Italian...
Read moreThe worst restaurant experience in my life. Got one of two ours pizzas burnt. Mostly because I have gastritis (as well as burnt bitter-sour taste of the dough) we informed the waiter about it. Instead of apologising he totally lost his temper and spoke to us in a very aggressive and rude manner, then turned around and left. The worst thing happened afterwards. The waiters started literally bullying us. When my husband went to the bathroom one of the waiters put the chair in front of the door so he couldn’t go out easily. You can not behave this way towards people in general, and we were their CUSTOMERS. I would like to mention that we were EXTREMELY polite, tried to speak Italian to them, didn’t make a scene or whatsoever. If you don’t want to feel like you are back to school surrounded by bullies, avoid this place. You would never know what to expect from...
